Engaging with your audience

Being a new game developer, I want to be able to interact with my players and find out what they like/don’t like about certain aspects of the game, so that my team and I can work off of what they’re reporting.

With that being said, what are some good platforms to be able to hear the thoughts and comments of players? I was thinking Twitter but some people might not have access to that due to age.

Or also maybe some ways that we can collect that information in-game maybe? Thank you!

Some games use Discord because of different possibilities like separate channels with permissions.

You can also add Hyperlink of the discord server on the game.

My partner and I were definitely thinking about creating a discord server, and I’ll make sure to look into Hyperlink.

Thank you!

For @Sorbious

Putting a hyperlink into your game that contains a Discord invite actually is not allowed. Since Discord is for 13+, younger kids would probably go to the link even though they are not suppose to; especially if you receive a reward for doing so.

For @Kourtielle

Don’t put the hyperlink into the game. You can only put a discord link on your game page. If you put the link directly in the game, you and your game will be removed.

Just looking out for you guys. Stay safe!

This is what I mean, I just don’t know how to explain it so I said Hyperlink. Sorry for that. English is not my first language. Sorry

Noted, thanks for the heads up! :star2:

This advice is probably obvious to you, but if you have time, join the game and talk to players as they’re playing. They’ll have the best ideas when they’re in the game, I think. Social media is good but limits interaction with younger players.
