I made a post about being spammed with error 429 and being unable to develop a couple weeks ago, I thought I was fixed as the error only happened intermittently, but now it’s become a lot more consistent again. During Play Solo I get Error 429 for almost every asset within my game, completely breaking it and halting development. I’ve taken a video to show what is happening:
System Information:
Windows 11 Home
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
16.0 GB DDR4
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
In terms of reproduction I have no idea really. It seems to happen after 1-3 Play Solos and I’ve attached my 10 most recent logs for viewing. After restarting studio it works again for 1-3 Play Solos and the cycle repeats.
Beta features: GTLF support, Live Animation Creator, Revamped Asset Manager, Scene Analysis, Segment by Parts.
Expected behavior
I expect all assets to load normally and consistently.
Hi Alex. We’re looking into this. In the mean time can you please log out in Studio and log back in and see if that fixes the issue? It would help rule some things out on our end.
Hi Bobo, I’ve logged in and out as of today. However yesterday I was not facing the same issue. It’s very intermittent for me. If I do start to see the issue again I will reply in this thread.
I also have the same issue, it still occurs very frequently for a very large scale map preventing me from playtesting effectively.
The issue could be resolved fairly easily if you guys properly kept the asset cache intact, instead of having to redownload everything on starting a playtest. Because letting it all load in studio slowly pre-runtime works. Just as soon as I click playtest it reloads everything. Combine that with runtime assets now also loading (extra meshes for vehicles, sounds, particles, surface appearances & editable images) this together just causes the entire thing to die and get stuck on hundreds of HTTP 429 errors.
I also want to point out, in the C++ code of roblox. RBX::Graphics::TexturePack never re-attempts to download its TexturePack if it errored and didnt load with e.g HTTP 429. Why doesn’t it periodically attempt to re-fetch it? This is pretty game breaking.
