I seemed to figure out the issue. I’m getting the error because I had a VPN active in the background without me knowing.
Steps to take for this fix:
Disconnect any and all VPNs entirely.
Close all browsers & apps that have roblox open.
Open the browsers and apps back up knowing your VPN is off and try going into studio to start a test again.
This should work if experiencing the same issue I was having. I’m assuming Roblox is monitoring/logging IPs connected to accounts, so doing this will guarantee your browser and studio are connected to the same IP. I think my issue was that my browser had a different active IP than what my studio was recognizing which failed to load because of it.
I believe I’ve determined the root cause of the issue.
After a certain number of Play Solo runs on macOS Studio network requests will begin failing to connect, meaning the Client can’t connect to the Server on subsequent Play Solo runs.
The issue may also affect connections to Team Create servers and Team Test. The only way to resolve the issue yourself is to close and re-open Studio.
I have a fix in progress for the issue and will update this thread when the fix is available.
There have been several reports from users seeing this issue in relation to using a VPN. Although the error message is the same, that problem is unrelated to the issue investigated in this post. The easiest way to tell if you are facing the issue in this post is if:
You are running Studio on macOS
Play Solo works initially
Play Solo begins failing
Closing and re-opening Studio allows Play Solo to work again
I have enabled a fix for this issue which should be applied to any macOS Studio process that is launched after this message is posted. If you have previously encountered this issue on macOS, please restart Studio when you see this post. You should no longer encounter the Play Solo loading error.
If you do encounter the error again and you are sure that your Studio process was launched after this message was posted, please provide logs from Studio using the instructions below.
Hi, I am having the same issue but on Windows 11, this has been happening for the past few days.
I get the same pop-up and message in console.
Closing and reopening studio doesn’t fix this for me, so I’m completely blocked out.
I’ve tried deleting and re-installing it.
My team test is also affected, not allowing me to use them.
Have any other user reported this issue on win11? If so, is there a fix in the works/released?
I can provide log dumps.
The bug described here only applies to macOS, so you would need to file a separate bug report for the issue you’re facing. However, I can say that some previous posters in this thread have also mentioned seeing this on Windows and found that disabling their VPN fixed the issue.
As there have been no further reports of the issue on macOS in the last 96 hours, I am closing this issue as resolved. Thank you to everyone who reported the issue and provided logs in order to help us get a fix out for this.
If you are still having this specific issue on macOS though, please let us know.
