Whenever I try to log in to roblox, an unknown error occurs. This happens with any account that I try, and started last night. I am using google chrome, and the only extensions that affect roblox are ropro and btroblox. There are no captchas, and it does not start two-step verification. Emailing a one time code does not work.
This all started after roblox was down yesterday. I could not play any games so I logged out, and then could not log back in.
I would try logging in on another device or WIFI just to see if that works. Clearing browser cookies for the Roblox website works for me sometimes.
Using a VPN allows me to login but attempt to use play on the website wont work unless im still using the VPN. The roblox player works fine though so I donât know whats going on
This is probably an error with your network/device, try to login with your phone first and then using the âuse another deviceâ button, that should do the trick.
btw the username you currently have can get you terminated if someone reports it thru an report form, take care with that, my friend had a similar name with the letters âcpâ and it was banned a couple weeks ago
Even if you login that wonât solve the 429 error when you try to play games
I think Roblox accidentally blacklisted residential IPs. I can login with a non-residential IP. I canât with a residential IP. I tried it with my neighborâs wifi and it was the same issue. I tried it with my vpn, a cloud provider and mobile hotspot and it was fine. My ISP / residential provider is AT&T if that helps anyone.
Make sure you got a stable internet connection. If the issue still persist. Try removing all the cache and the localappdata then reinstall Roblox
iâve had this same issue for a few days now and doing this doesnât fix the issue either. it still gives me the same error trying to log in. On top of when using the website it gives error 429. sometimes the website will launch the game and others it wonât.
You can send this report to Roblox Customer Support (But from my experience, they hardly help and say to just reinstall Roblox). If website is causing you trouble, try Microsoft Store version. Its slow but I am pretty sure it wont throw any errors
After Roblox was completely spotty the other day, I started experiencing this same issue the same day afterward. I thoroughly went through my entire system to clear any trace of Robloxâs existence on it and it still gives me this issue, which means this is not anything Cache related on the system.
You could say the Cookies are the issue, but that wouldnât be the case when just trying to log in via the Roblox app. When trying to do so, it just gives the same error as OP and Quick Login and all of that stuff does not function either. The client acknowledges it receives a request and it asks me to confirm the code on the other device, but upon accepting it just disappears and leaves me at the login screen.
I thought using Bloxstrap had something to do with it, and when I went to try just regular roblox I was met with the same exact issue. Roblox is completely inaccessible for me.
Another super frustrating thing is that the Windows Store app doesnât work at all. Just hangs on this screen, and then crashes a few minutes later.
What is even happening?
this doesnât help the issue that it also affects studio. i havenât been able to work with my team on a project for around a week now because of this
Im guessing this is why, I have the same ISP as you, when I was at a friends house about a couple miles away who uses a diff ISP and has a different IP, it worked all fine.
Iâve seen news that Roblox will soon stop supporting the Microsoft Store application, so that might be related.
Meh no one uses that anyway, really sucks that the website dosenât work though, stuck using the player and its just so much more work to find certain games.
I was aware of this issue afterward. I was mainly using the Windows Store app as a control to see if something was wrong with my actual client. I donât genuinely use it to play Roblox, the app sucks (to put it boldly).
On a separate note, I thought IPv6 routing had some sort of thing to do with it, because I noticed my ISP routes my IPv4 address to some place that isnât my city, but IPv6 is in my city.
So, I tried disabling IPv6 to limit Roblox to only be able to use IPv4 in the event that was what was wrong, however this didnât fix the authentication error Iâm getting when joining from the website.
Also, I did notice the actual error number from my previous screenshot, which says Error 429 which usually indicates too many requests given within a set time range. This doesnât make any sense as Iâm only attempting to join from the website once, and Iâm not doing any weird trickery with this.
My only running theory is that my ISP is routing everyone under one single location that handles all the requests and if other people are querying Roblox too, they limit that connection because there is too many people using it, which is incredibly stupid (but wouldnât be Robloxâs fault)
Any way to fix this or something, I canât do like anything
iâm starting to run into this issue too, and this seems to be the case. i am unable to log in on any devices at my home including my phone (when its on wifi), but when using cellular data i am able to log in.
Hey, this is currently fixed for me! Most likely a ISP mistake and not a roblox if I had to guess.
