"Escaping" the Roblox Algorithm

Hello!

I have been working on a Roblox game called Claw Machine Arcade (Link: Claw Machine Arcade! - Roblox). It’s a claw machine simulation game where a player plays claw machines, wins prizes to earn tokens (the in-game currency), and spends their tokens on new zones with new machines.

The game has been doing relatively well, getting hundreds of CCU’s on average. However, I noticed each week that instead of the game reaching new highs, it’s reaching new lows:

The game follows a pattern: It slowly grows, gains a massive spike in popularity where it sets new records each day, and then starts on a journey receiving less and less popularity. This is with the game being fairly stable in retention, monetization, QPTR, etc.

Interestingly, another game I’ve created in the same genre followed a similar pattern before being shut down:

How can I escape this seeming inevitable death pattern of my games? Are there any tips and tricks I should use or follow? If you’d like to see more information/graphs, just let me know!

Thanks

you dont, not really anything you can do about this aside from changing your update schedule to maybe just release at more specific times to negate the player drops

death is inevitable.
you can only slow it down so much with content updates

Interesting, are there any other larger examples that followed this trend?

To be honest updates. See what the community wants. Otherwise it happens to all games.

I’ve implemented a survey and updated according to what players want. It still doesn’t seem to help too much. What arw things bigger games do that I may be missing?

Are you currently advertising the game? Perhaps getting new players could help.

I’ve never advertised any of my games. All of the players come through Roblox’s recommendation algorithm.

One thing I noticed was that the game’s retention dropped below normal. It still is dropping today.

The game’s number of impressions has also been going down. Something might be hurting the algorithm, causing the game to be promoted less.
