Hello, in the past few events Roblox hosted some of the items have been described as “Limited”. However none of these items actually ever went limited.
I agree that the intention was probably to mark them as being limited time, but the implication of the text is absolutely that they would become Limited (resellable / tradeable) items. Roblox has previously used this exact wording (note the capitalization of “Limited”) to mean that an item would become Limited. At the very least, I think Roblox should offer a refund to purchasers of the Bling Track event pass / specific event pass item developer products that request one.
You need to double check, they meant that the item is ONLY available for a limited time, if it doesn’t have the green limited stripe, then it’s not a limited item.
Bumping to see if we can get clarification on what will be happening to these items, as an item also advertised using the same term from The Hunt: First Edition event was finally made limited today.
Also adding that every gold item in the Bling Track had the “Get this Limited item” text when claiming it without owning the event pass, not just the Kleos pictured in the main post of this thread. Here’s a screenshot I took when I noticed the text during the event in May of last year:
Considering roblox made some the hunt’s item go limited because of the label it had during the event, it would be interesting to see those going limited too.
The same thing happened to this item, even if it wasn’t their intention, labeling it as “Limited” could be considered false advertising (especially considering they capitalized the word “Limited”) which is potentially why they decided to actually turn it into limited. This means that they could (or even should) make those items limited since the same label was given to them.
The correct thing to do would turn them into limiteds even if that was not their original intentions, since it opened doors for a lots of misinterpretation.
Honestly, I don’t really think it makes sense for these four items to go Limited — at least not in the same way as Limiteds from events like The Hunt or The Games or other major seasonal events. When you look at how The Classic event worked, it’s clear these Bling versions weren’t really set up to be limited in that same sense.
The Bling versions were Robux-upgraded forms of the event items and could only be obtained after claiming their corresponding items from the “Exclusive Avatar Items” section of the event. They were accessed through a purchase prompt or other alternative methods (listed below). That’s a key difference from other Limiteds in past events, which were simply sold for Robux via item prompts with no alternate access. The way these Bling items were distributed suggests Roblox didn’t intend them to be treated the same way.
To purchase the items on the Bling Track, you first need to have a sufficient number of Classic Tokens to obtain the regular versions of these items, adding an extra gameplay element.
There were multiple ways to get these Bling items:
You could just pay the specific Robux amount shown for each item in the UI,
That’s a pretty different setup compared to Limiteds from events like The Hunt or The Games, where the items were tied to a single Robux-based purchase method with a visible timer — no alternate unlocks, no bundles. So yeah — even though Roblox used the “Limited Item” tag here, the way these were actually obtained just doesn’t match how other event Limiteds worked.
Bling Items vs. Regular Versions – Quick Comparison
I agree here with raskolibov, we haven’t really seen event prizes go limited except for the innovation stuff that were advertised as actual limited. Since all events have followed roughly the same format, normal track and bling track and none have gone limited, I didn’t have any problems distinguishing that prize items would or would NOT be going limited.
In general, it’s not very productive to debate/argue about report because how Roblox perceives the issue and acts is really what matters at the end of the day. Personally, I’m in the middle regarding this issue, but I’m starting to lean in favor of the OP. While I understand the argument about the precedent set by past events and the love for off-sale items, this stance makes the assumption that everyone who played “The Classic” also played “The Hunt” and knew the intentions for the bling items. Objectively, they should go limited by the wording. I know by “Limited” they meant Limited-Time, but they need to learn to be more careful with their wording to prevent possibly misleading users in the future. Effectively communicating things like this really isn’t difficult. If it simply would’ve said “Limited-Time”, there wouldn’t be a problem. This is a valid concern and bug report.
When the item is supposed to go Limited it has the “LIMITED” logo/tag that is written in all caps. The text on the items you provided as an example mean that the items wouldn’t be obtainable after the event was over.
