Expanding Verified Badge to more Experience Creators

They first brought ID-Verification for Voice chat way before they introduced the “Verified badge”

Correct, but the ID verification requirement is likely to make you prove that you are who you say you are. Once again, that is the whole point of the bluebadge

For future reference, if you are not ID verified you will still be considered for the badge. You will get a system message requesting you to give ID verification in order to receive it.

My best guess would be that your platform following is not significant enough. The two developers specified in your group have followers in the tens of thousands, while yours doesn’t really come close. If you weren’t verified then you don’t meet the current criteria.

EDIT: It would seem you’re specified as a developer for the other game under that group, which likely doesn’t meet the engagement hours criteria. The other game under the group would’ve been considered and, since you weren’t considered a key contributor to it, you weren’t eligible. Your platform following may still be too low as well however, so I’ll keep that part in.

I don’t think there is any criteria. everything just seems messy

There’s definitely very specific criteria which seems consistent on the multiple cases I’ve seen, including my own, so saying there is none is just not right. In Rolve only us developers who are big contributors to Arsenal’s development, and who have a big platform following, have been either automatically verified or given the opportunity to be once ID verified. The rest of the team who work mainly on other projects or who don’t have a significant following weren’t offered or given it. This is consistent across other groups I’ve looked at.

As things are at the moment, they seem clear and verified badges are being given out accordingly. People want to be verified, and that’s fine! Anyone who hasn’t received the badge yet just isn’t eligible under the current criteria, so all they can do is wait and hope they become eligible, either by their experiences becoming more popular or by the criteria changing.

Really not a fan of this whole verified thing. Feels like its separating and widen the gap between small/big developers.

Yes, I 100% agree with this, this is mainly to know that you’re verified tho and you’re the four person (even though having a big Game makes no sense for this)

What is the criteria for “contributor”, because in a lot of cases - developers simply implement certain features for games, as timely contracts, would this be eligible for the Verified Badge?

In other words, if I’m credited for X work in X game which is a top game, would I be eligible?

I really hope that this doesn’t turn out like the crowns with people lying about contributing to popular games just for a little checkmark. What checks are in place to make sure that a user isn’t just socially engineering a checkmark?

I don’t particularly like the fact that it tends to be all the game studios reaping these rewards.

I would love it if Roblox would allow reputable UGC developers, since there are a ton of talented creators who don’t have it yet. I’m aware that some do have it, but others don’t.

I’d also like some sort of verified badge for marketplace developers. If I was to make some free models, how does someone know whether it’s actually safe? Endorsement is dead as far as I’m aware, and the ID verified tag DOES NOT prove that a model is harmless. Talking of which, plugin developers deserve it too. Game developers take up a lot of the credit, when developers in other segments don’t get appreciated as much imo

Actually, as a UGC creator I can confirm that many other creators have been getting verified as a result of this!

It seems like around 100k sales is the benchmark for this and there’s a lot of waves of verifications. Just the other day my friend astro got verified!

II hope to have verification at some point in my life, it would be the best!

One other piece of feedback I would like to give:

All developers who have devexed over a minimum threshold (for example R$10M robux) OR consistently devex a large amount of devex every month OR past 12 months should be verified. We give Roblox more personal information than any other person to devex. And by devexing an amount that large and consistently, probably is a clear indicator that we are somewhat influential on the Roblox site.

This is a step in the right direction to determining the original creators on Roblox.

One question, though. Will this ever be added to the DevForum, in some form?

Also provides more incentment for small developers to grow their experiences.
It helps big devs get a slight edge over impersonators, I search my name up and get 126 users with ConnorVIII in their name, I doubt many are active, however Ive seen users join my games and have near identical names, ‘ConnorV1II’ or something like that. I feel more comfortable knowing myself and other big devs can avoid these issues with verification

I don’t understand the hype for this verified badge. It’s pretty much like Twitter Blue before being paid-only where only notable users, according to the platform, are selected to get one.

All this shows is whether Roblox, in recent times, remotely cares about you. Mostly whether you have caused any kind of revenue for them through popularity.

I’m an almost 15 year old veteran on this platform, have been a host in a past event, have devexed several times and authentication and ID verification are set. I also have a couple official models in the toolbox which are hidden by default due being unverified. It’s all nothing really impressive compared to nowadays, and that’s exactly the reason I’m unverified. I simply do not have the badge because I, in the eyes of Roblox through their criteria, in this matter popularity, am simply not relevant enough.

There are also reports of users getting harassed having this badge due jealousy. In addition, marketplace / toolbox content from verified users are not necessarily free from harm or malicious intent. So in some way it’s even causing harm.

Just my two cents on the matter.

Would like to add onto the conversation - I’ve contributed music to many many experiences. Probably 35+ experiences - some of which we’re official roblox event experiences, and also top performing experiences too. Piggy, Pet Sim Series, Mining Sim series, Vesteria, Egg Hunt 2018, Sharkbite Series, just to name a few. As a composer, I don’t ever have to login to Roblox Studio whatsoever. I don’t know that that is a good way to gauge who gets this verification or not.

This is a perfect example of what they could do! I may not open studio AT ALL, but I devex regularly EVERY MONTH from my contributions!

Lost my verified badge when I clicked email verification cause there’s a big warning sign that roblox tells me to turn it on  I had 2SV on prior to that…
