Ratio on a devforum site is wild
Not to mention I even found a whole group dedicated to UGC hats based around Super Why, Curious George, and Garfield all the way back in August.
Or even that one Cap’n Crunch item that went viral.
They’ve been doing our childhood characters dirty!
I’ve seen that one too, it’s really low that they’re just stealing our childhoods like that
It’s working though, right? I’m not active on twitter/“X” for my sanity so idrk how “ratio’ing” works
It is no secret that this announcement was the single most embarrassing moment in the history of the platform. (I consider the 2022 audio changes the second most embarrassing moment)
Here, they had absolutely NO idea how significant it would’ve been if this policy went into effect as scheduled and if you notice, they refused to provide any tips on how to be ready within just seven days.
We might as well ask who green lighted the proposal in the first place?
I personally hope this policy update doesn’t return. Or at least if it does, it’s drastically improved. I trust that this will be fixed when/if this change returns.
Mate it’s been 20 days and nothings been mentioned anywhere in regards to this
Likely an intern who didn’t know any better, or someone looking to increase Roblox’s profit margins.
The update appears to be dead and in the ground from what it seems, but who knows, maybe Roblox is still trying to work on this update.
Please don’t speak about this ever again!Sorry for the bump, I didn’t realize.
No, don’t apologize. We need to let Roblox know that we will not be silenced.
Look, with all due respect, this controversy died nearly a year ago. At this point, it’s safe to say that this is over with.
If they do this kind of thing again then we can kick up another storm, but till then there is no reason to revive dead drama.
I agree with the sentiment, it’s always a good idea to be on the lookout if roblox tries to be sneaky and silently implement this whole policy piece by piece.
Any update that requires developers to implement something in their games should be seen with utmost suspicion.
Until Roblox explicitly states they are cancelling the policy rollout, I wouldn’t consider this issue resolved.
Hitting the pause button on a TV remote implies you can hit the play button to go right back to watching. In this metaphorical sense, we want Roblox to hit the “stop” or “eject” button.
Especially when it’s a policy change that takes effect within a couple weeks, giving developers barely any time to comply. A company as large as Roblox’s should understand that adapting to rule changes isn’t supporting that can be done quickly…
roblox is basically just the romulan justice system at this point.
It’s been a full year ever since you guys paused it… Please don’t unpause this and forget about this completely. Those are my kindest thoughts. Also, sorry for the bump.
It’s been a full year already? If it takes that long for Roblox to make another reply to this, we know that the update is dead.
sorry for bump but the update is definitely permanently cancelled, and if they do revive this update like 90% of the devs are gonna quit, except for Preston or the adopt me creators probably, and the platform will fall on its face and die
Here we are in 2025. Still wondering who green-lighted this idea in the first place without providing much information or time to take action.
the person who made that idea was probably insane
