this is just an example (I hope), but yes this is what games would have to look like
smh, its like roblox doesnt even realize this update would literally kill 90% of the platforms games. i can guarantee that even corporations like the adopt me team probably have âoffsaleâ stuff in their outfit maker thingy, and adopt me is a pretty easy cash grab for roblox corp, with some collateral damage (the onslaught of scammers scamming the little Timmys and Susies of their mega neon fly ride giraffe or whatever)
oh I just posted this as an example of what I would need to remove from my gameâs shop
What if nobody actually removes all the items affected by this update in their games? They wouldnât just delete every game, would they?
I have no idea why theyâd want to get rid of all the classic bundles.
My avatarâs already an eyesore to look at.
This is one of Robloxâs most recent Rthro bundles.
You know youâre doing something wrong when an avatar thatâs MEANT to look ugly looks better than something that isnât.
I like ugly looking avatars, and believe me when I say I do NOT want to use an Rthro avatar unironically.
Blocky likely wouldnât be affected by this change, because it only is accessible by unequipping the body parts you already have. While, yes, the blocky parts arenât on-sale, they technically âdonât existâ, so I donât think they would be affected by this.
Man, just when I thought that removing R6 was bad, looks like Roblox hit a new low.
They probably would and immediately regret it as their stock market, playerbase, and developer trust drops like an anvil dropping from the sky. Going through with this would lead to catastrophes Unity can only imagine happening to themselves.
If this policy ends up taking effect AND it hasnât changed one bit, you better start learning how to use Godot/Unreal, because pretty much all games are going to get blasted.
Funnily enough this already happened with just the announcement. I canât imagine the drop if/when they finally roll this out.
Itâll probably drop through the floor straight down to the core of the Earth.
When this update hits, the amount of developers quitting because of this will most likely be higher than the amount that quit during the audio update.
After watching videos about it, I downloaded Godot just in case I wanted to dip my toes in the water to see if I could make anything using the engine, should this update be as horrible as Iâm starting to imagine that it will be.
Unreal looks amazing at times but after the nonsense Unity was going to pull off, I now have trouble trusting that another company wonât do something similar in the future, so Iâm thinking the best option for most developers would be Godot.
Of course, if any developer does try another game engine, it will be way harder to make a multiplayer game that âjust worksâ like one made using Roblox, and theyâll still have to make their own character and object models like they would if Roblox tries to stealthily drop this update on us (and we all know they will, just like with most of their other updates).
I actually have another game that I stopped working on that I could return to, but I didnât care about organizing my scripts so itâs basically a big, messy ball of random scripts, unlike my Roblox experience.
If (more like âwhenâ) Roblox tries to force this on everyone, I would like to see a lot of developers saying that they are moving to other engines where they have more freedom to make the âexperienceâ that they want to create.
Most of the time, when someone announces that, people usually reply with something like âI donât careâ, âYouâll come backâ, or just an almost sarcastic âgoodbyeâ. I hope that changes when those developers realize how anti-developer Roblox is slowly becoming.
I guess Iâm feeling this way because Iâm hoping that enough developers leave that it affects Roblox in some way and they completely change their mind, saving any developers that canât leave the platform from having to come off as greedy and constantly ask their players to buy random items (just because Roblox is forcing them to).
I donât know either, but then again, why did they think this planned policy update was a good idea? If theyâre willing to do stuff like this, even crazy things like taking the better bundles off sale isnât out of the question now.
Hereâs my current, cute avatar, which I believe uses a mic or woman and girl parts. (I would use Girl Arms but the kimono looks strange with bigger arms.)
Itâs a bit modern, I know; Iâm using layered clothing (which rarely ever looks good thanks to the way that it wraps around body part meshes with very little padding) and a dynamic head, but I still think this looks like what I would want my avatar to appear like.
One of my other outfits looks like this, which was a recreation of a dummy that I used when I made commissioned animations for someone.
When some of the newer Rthro bundles were released, I tried one of them out and regretted it after thatâŚ
This thing looks like an alien creature trying to imitate the animation dummy! It looks so off⌠If my avatar was changed to something like this, I really would feel like leaving the platform, as it doesnât visually mesh with anything. Even my detailed, somewhat realistic cup models wouldnât look right in that thingâs hands.
Then again, most of everything on Roblox was NOT tailored to Rthro bundles. If youâve ever held a tool with an Rthro avatar, youâd know that the tool would be at the right of the avatarâs hand instead of IN it.
Yeah the fact that the avatar equipped doesnât support classic clothing and has a head that doesnât blend seamlessly into the torso makes it look uncanny. Then again, Roblox would probably say that looks normalâŚ
ROBLOX, with 2,000 responses but only 163 likes, itâs evident that many people are questioning the appeal of your updates. RDC 2023 was fantastic. 2023 Roblox, can we really compare it to the ROBLOX of 2016? Itâs doubtful. This response may not have any impact, and it seems like you might not even care. Whatâs the purpose behind this update? Itâs likely that a significant number of players will consider leaving because of it.
I implore the ROBLOX STAFF reading this to consider that if youâre trying to make ROBLOX hyper-realistic to the point where it mimics real life, most players will not stick around. ROBLOX is meant to be a source of fun and imagination, not a simulation of reality. Itâs becoming increasingly difficult to understand the decisions being made by those hired after 2020-2021 (or whenever these changes began). Sadly, it seems like our opinions, including mine, donât matter, and you believe your approaches are the right ones, even when theyâre not. Countless players have contemplated quitting due to unfavorable updates, and it seems another one has arrived.
Furthermore, the pace of addressing issues is remarkably slow. It took around 4-5 years of complaints to fix the moderation system, and now, what are your plans for the future?
As for ROBLOX Support, itâs become less and less relevant. When we need assistance from ROBLOX, we often seek alternative methods or rely on our own resources.
Prepare for a substantial portion of the community to express their disagreement.
No they would. They most certainly would.
They wouldnât do that, would they?
âŚwould they?
No they would. They most certainly would.
Roblox on their way to destroy the very thing bringing them income:
Like @AlteFore said, yeah, they would. It would help destroy their platform but Roblox would do anything to comply with their rules, no matter what the end result and therefore communityâs response would be.
Like I said before:
-
Most of ROBLOXâs income comes from people buying robux, marketplace items, and premium.
-
Most of ROBLOXâs playerbase are small children who likely donât even know what a corporation is, let alone what a policy is
-
Most of what little money ROBLOX does make from games, comes from giant games like adopt me or brookhaven which can and already have complied to this.
ROBLOX is probably not killing their income with this. Unfortunately our best weapon against this update is our voices.
