I have talked to the original owners of all of the places, not one of them ever gave anyone a copy or group access to the places. I can confirm this is a clientside exploit that steals only parts, as you will see that unions, lighting, scripts and terrain are all missing.
The geometry of places and any other local content can always be stolen, because it has to be downloaded by the client. It’s not a new exploit, and there is basically nothing that can be done to stop it from happening.
The original place owners will have to contact info@roblox.com to see if they can get the copies taken down.
They only handle incorrectly moderated assets owned by the account holder - for stolen maps, the original place creator has to email info@roblox.com. (They need the original creator’s word to make 100% sure that he didn’t just give the place to the alleged copier)
They could still stitch the map together couldn’t they? And that would make the game less attractive to legitimate users with good enough computers who aren’t exploiters.
