So I wanted to import some models from Roblox to work on a GFX and I’ve noticed that all of the imported models had flipped normals. I normally wouldn’t care much about it as I’d just flip the normals and go on with my work but it wouldn’t flip the normals at all.
I noticed it starting 3/22/2021 around 10 am EST. I’ve been able to reproduce this bug 100% of the time only with normals. It doesn’t affect any primitive parts such as cylinders and wedges.
How to reproduce:
- Go into studio
- Put any sort of model from the toolbox into the place and export it
- Upload it to Blender
- Go to “Viewport Shading”
- Look at your model
You can try to fix it by going into edit mode and click Mesh > Normals > Recalculate Outside
