Exporting from blender to roblox studio as a special mesh

Is there anyway to export a mesh from blender to roblox studio but in roblox studio it is a special mesh instead of a normal mesh?

Can’t you perhaps save and publish the mesh, then place a new special mesh and in the properties point it to the published mesh id ?

Yes, all you need to do is export from blender and import to roblox.

Start by exporting as wavefront .obj (you can find this in the file menu in the top left)

Once you have your mesh saved, open roblox studio, go to the view tab, and make sure the asset manager is enabled.

Once you’ve opened the asset manager,. it should appear on your left sidebar. Click the upload button on the tool bar section of the asset manager. (as shown below)

Then, find the mesh in your file explorer and select it. A mini window will pop up in the middle of your screen. Click apply all and then close the bulk import window.

After that, a new asset will appear in the asset manager sidebar. Right click the asset and click insert or insert with location (brings asset to where it was in blender).

The mesh will insert into studio as a normal mesh.

Turning it into a special mesh

To turn it into a special mesh, you can either turn it into an accesory or upload it to roblox.

Uploading to Roblox

After you upload it to roblox, click the plus on the workspace folder in the explorer, and then search and insert a special mesh.
Then paste the ID into the special mesh “MeshID” field, found in the special mesh properties.

Turning it straight into an accessory

If you want to turn it straight into an accessory, make sure you have the plugin titled “Asset Creator”.
Click on the asset creator and follow the steps that appear on the asset creator menu on your screen. It will automatically generate an accessory that can be found in the explorer tab.
