External Moderation Handbook

So, you’ve gotten access to the External Moderation system, but you don’t know how to use it? Never fear, LettuceDealer is here to save the day with this guide.
First of all, I programmed this so I do know the ins and outs of the system. Its pretty simple, and isn’t hard to understand. Also understand that the panel’s features may vary from game to game, because each game may have its panel customized or configured differently.

Getting Started

First of all, you will need to authenticate yourself.

Just press the button. If the authentication fails, but you know you should have access, contact someone with panel edit access (Since this system is only available for Happy Cat games, you can contact me or any other system administrators)
It should then go to this screen:

If it is on this screen, but the panel does not load after 3 seconds, rejoin and if it still doesn’t work, contact a system administrator.

Navigation

I don’t care how horrible the panel looks, if it works it works. You should now be here:

Now, there are some things we can do here. As of writing this, reports, games and settings are not yet functional, so I won’t write about them. In the bottom left, you will see 2 buttons and 2 textboxes. Being able to enter a username OR UserId is pretty useful, incase you are only provided a UserId or only a Username.
Now, before we continue, please understand that every single action you make is logged not only to the designated datastore, but also to an external website, where system administrators can mass restore/rollback data.

Moderating Users

Now that you’re in, you can just enter a random persons Id, you can try 123456 for this example. Copy and paste the username in the CORRECT box, or you will cause the system to error.

And then click the search button.
Now we have a whole bunch of data on whoever this guy is:

And yes, all of that data could be necessary to a moderator who needs to determine if a user should be banned or not.

Moderation Features

I’m just going to really quickly skim over this, since its pretty obvious what everything is:

You can see who banned a user, why they were banned and when they were banned. You can also see the user’s profile description, account creation date and account age (in days)
Over here:

You can copy the UserId or Username from the textbox (but you can’t edit it)

Moderation Features Part 2: Status Override

Now this is where the actual moderating happens, right here:

Firstly, you can add mod notes. Moderators are trusted, and can add any notes. By entering text into the ‘Mod Note Goes Here’ box and clicking add note, you can add messages to other moderators about the user ( “This guy appealed and was unbanned”, “Might be hacking, watch out for him”, etc)
So after you enter an informative note to your fellow moderators, simply click add note.

DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON AGAIN IF YOU THINK IT DIDN’T POST, TRUST ME, IT DID!
When this shows up:
image
You should return to the home menu and re-search that user (no refresh feature yet sorry)
You’ll then see your note (which I edited with datastore editor for reasons)
image
Next, is notorious right side.
Click ban or Unban to theoretically set a users status. It will not immediately change it. Based on what you select, the button will turn green:
image
Then, simply click “Set Ban/Unban” and the user will be updated accordingly. This should pop up when the user is banned:
image
If it does not, just try again until it does.
Note: When you ban a user, they will be globally kicked from the server that they’re in, and they will see this:

Lastly, is the reason section.
Just enter a reason, and then click set reason. Pretty simple.
And this will show up:

When you refresh, you should be able to see all the damage you’ve done.

The Conclusion

you wish you could use this in your game lol
