Hello there, I am having an issue with Studio, and its a weird one.
Yesterday, I installed Studio on my new laptop ( the one I am writing this report from ).
And it all went smoothly and everything was working for the first 2 - 3 hours.
Fast foward to the next time I opened studio, and this happens.
Firstly, studio updates, and there is nothing weird with that. But after it was done updating, ( which took a very long time for some reason ), none of my places were working.
What do I mean with not working?
Well, literally, nothing was working.
All CoreScripts crashed immediately after opening a place:
Now even with all these errors reported at the boot of any place I opened, it didn’t cause lag, or any crashes, or any freezes in any form or kind. But, it’s completely impossible to play-test in studio now.
This is what happens after pressing F6, ( starting a “Play in Studio” session ).
All the errors were generated again, but along with all CoreScripts breaking, my own script “ran”.
I am quoting ran because it was stopped 115 lines in its runtime, by this weird error:
All of this started to happen after the most recent studio update, and I have tried the following:
Restarting my computer
Reinstalling Studio / ROBLOX in general
Made sure that my internet is working, ( it is, and it was )
The only time I have experienced something remotely close to this, has been when I have tried to open studio without an internet connection.
I dont think the connection is the problem, here’s my speedtest results:
It’s not amazing, but it’s decent for being a hotel wifi, and in my eyes it should be enough to run Studio.
I can watch streams on twitch w/o any latency, same goes for YouTube.
I tried completely re-installing everything again, and the same thing happens.
EDIT:
Now this happens when starting studio.
EDIT x2:
@wravager In that GIF, you can see that some ( if not all ) core scripts are there.
If you are able too, please compare that GIF with your CoreScript folder, incase I actually am missing some files that refuse to download along side Studio.
Do you have a phone you could tether to, or any other means of internet available? Hotel wi-fi, even when fast, can have firewall issues, in terms of what ports are open, what type of traffic and urls are allowed, DNS problems you don’t have control over, etc. This is not necessarily what’s happening, but just the first thing that came to mind.
Hmm, my phone doesn’t have any data left.
And keep in mind, I am perfectly able to play ROBLOX games, everything outside Studio works.
Anyways, I am traveling to visit my parents in a couple of hours, I’ll see if stuff works around there.
( I understand that the roblox client / roblox official servers dont use the same port(s) as studio )
EDIT: Hello hello, now reporting in from an even worse internet connection, but the problem still exists.
And I am sure that this internet doesnt block any roblox related traffic, since I checked for myself.
