Extremely Low CVR - 300 CCU

I’m struggling on improving my games CVR (Conversion Rate) its very low, highest is at like 0.07%.

Many other game developers with much worse stats than mine make extremely more than me and have higher CVRs, so I’m confused on what I did wrong with monetization.

I’ve tried lowering gamepass prices, making VIPs paid, and other stuff, to no avail. The shop isn’t even bad enough deserve a measly 0.07%.

I’d appreciate any feedback towards this issue of mine.


It could be about a lot of factors, some of the things are listed below:

  • Your game is too friendly to F2P players
    • This could be that it’s not the problem of the pricing, rather, it is a problem of “why should I buy it?”
    • You could solve this problem by making the game more hostile towards F2P players, and maybe some marketing tactics too (such as intriguing GUIs)
  • It could be that it is not worthwhile for players to buy gamepasses.
    • They know they won’t be playing this game for a long time, so, why bother with buying stuff in the game?
    • You could consider adding some gamepasses that act as a “decoy” of some sorts, like how Costco does.
    • These gamepasses can be cheap, and can allow players to buy that gamepass.
    • The fact that they already bought a gamepass, will mean that they will be buying more, because of the mindset: “If you already bought something in the game, why not invest some more?”

This is just my thoughts though, I could see some games suffer because they’re too generous, or the players won’t be invested in the game.

Hey there! I had a similar issue to yours and I basically believe that if the game is too easy to play without spending anything then theres not point buying anything. That was in my case anyway, might be different for you.

Yeah I believe it may be because the game is too friendly and easy for F2P. Maybe it’s the fact that rare ores are pretty easy to get. I don’t usually playtest my games because I barely have time for that but I’ll have to see for myself.

As for it not being worthwhile, I mean D1 retention is 10% so I don’t think it’s that. I know competitors which have half my D1 and have a 2% CVR.

PLEASE, dont encourage people to try and market their game to be P2W.

Its not. its stating a fact. say all you want, no matter what you would still want to earn something from your game. And plus a too easy game wouldn’t be fun to play. Anyways, we are just asking for the game to have a good balance.
