Expected Behavior: There will not be an error on the line with the last end statement Actual Behavior: An error occurs Work-a-round: Toggle comment twice
Last night I was getting a strange error on the last end statement, which was fixed after toggling comment on the code of the line above it, then untoggling comment, there was no visible error in the actual code. The error said “incomplete statement expected assignment or a function call.”
I believe this issue was caused because the last quoted string ends with a parenthesis along with that line of code. I was typing super fast and that might have been the reason. Either way I wasted a decent chunk of time debugging this issue and it should be fixed.
If you have an isolated example with this behavior that you can share or a screen shot of the script and Output widget with the error please send it our way.
@idevride The only information that I can offer is that I’ve seen weird glitches like this in Studio myself. Usually, when it happens, I just restart Studio and it’s fine after that. I usually see it maybe once a month or so. Not sure how much that will help though.
I’m not really sure, I’ve tried recreating it like three times but it seems like its one of those issues that is as common as finding a four-leaf clover behind an abandoned building that has no vegetation.
I would send additional information if I had any, which I don’t.
If anybody else encounters this issue, copy your script, delete it, then paste it back into the game.
Thank you, let’s keep an eye on this, it could have been caused by a condition that has been fixed since given we’re continuously improving that part of the code.
