Sup!
So I have the issue that when ever I equip/select a tool from the terrain editor such as “Draw”, and especially “Sculpt” my fps drops by almost the half.
When starting to edit, like sculpting terrain, my fps drops to 10 FPS.
Both my laptops are Low_End, but one is better then the other one, and I get the exact same fps,
weirdly enough this fps drops only occour when having a tool selected, or when using the tool. I don’t get the fps drops on extremly large terrain maps where the terrain is already generated.
The map is completely empty, when drawing the fps dropped by a little bit but sculpting drops it to almost 10 fps. (Not sure why the tool wasn’t even working, but even if it didn’t even do anything the fps dropped to 10)
That’s an issue with your device. The terrain system is voxel based so when drawing something your computer has to calculate all sorts of stuff so it lags. As for selecting… that’s a tricky part. Maybe the same thing?
Really not sure about it, but even if its because of my device, I did try to use the terrain editor on 2 different devices with different performance, but with the exact same result
If they low end then you need buy new pc.
If you don’t want then try change graphics (this all stuff in Roblox Studio settings) it’s might help but i’m not sure. But better buy new pc.
I have a lot of experience using studio on relatively low-end laptops, and even used a “powerful work laptop” for the longest time and my fps was always quite low, especially with the terrain tools (this was over 7 years ago at this point).
Generally, normal laptops that aren’t specifically made for gaming are likely gonna have a hard time with studio.
But given you are getting 60fps when not using terrain tools… that is quite puzzling…
I am not? I did give a valid reason for why OP lags when he uses the tool. If you nothing else than to just insult others people then please just don’t mind making a post. You are adding on useless data for the servers.
