I don’t believe that is true, check your task manager when rendering the animations.
This is quite an interesting feature!
I tried remaking that rock vine boom sound effect video with it.
did look a bit off and the scripting was really unethical and unoptimized because I haven’t scripted something in ages.
My secondary laptop still doesn’t have this feature. When does it leave beta?
LOL this is amazing.
It’s not Rthro, it’s dynamic heads. There’s one for blocky rigs too.
A roblox staff member said the opposite on the thread regarding the full animations (not just face)
Dunno.
I see how that could be confusing at first, but yes, that’s a difference in how the Live Animation Creator (for body animations) and the Face Recorder (for face animations) work.
With the Live Animation Creator one uploads a video and it gets processed on the server, whereas with the Face Recorder it’s all processed locally.
That’s what makes it possible to puppeteer the Avatar’s face live, in realtime in Studio: there is no video upload / remote processing waiting duration with the Face Recorder.
As stated, it is still rolling out to users. You will just have to wait.
Despite the fairly uncanny look first shown off, this is actually really cool. I see a ton of potential in this! Cannot wait to see what creativity developers will make with this.
Great, when will support for tongues be added?
For those wondering how to do motion AND face, simply record your video, import it into the animation editor, download OBS and enable virtual camera, add your video into OBS, use the face recorder, and play the video. That should work
Revolutionary addition! What’s your policy on the face data given? Is it saved to Roblox’s servers?
Will there ever be support to do this live in a Roblox game? So a persons avatar head just moves with their real head?
Over time, added you more and more incredible feature. Thanks a lot
Still terrifying but pretty cool though, technology : )
I’ve done the same. You can copy over most parts of your roblox avatar to it (though hats will get messed up and need to get fixed manually)
If you then put a solid surface gui of any color behind it (i’d recommend magenta or green) then OBS can chroma key it out easily, and you end up with something like this

It would be cool as well if you could do what you did with the Live Animations BETA, where you would select a video from your computer instead of recording one on your computers, some of which don’t have cameras.
I really like it. Yes it is a little bit off but thats okey.
I am really exited to be VTuber LOL
This idea is really cool and I love how Roblox is making so many new things to improve and help developers, but I just can’t figure any ways we would use this? I haven’t seen Dynamic heads in any game whatsover yet so what exactly is the idea of this feature? (I really like this idea but just curious what the mindset of it is)
