"Failed to bind to workspace" error

Recently my studio started showing an error whenever I try to start the game or open the plugin window, and it crashes completely when I try to stop the game.

The issue seems to be graphics driver related. I’m not exactly sure when it first started happening but it’s definitely been a couple of weeks.

I’ve tried:

  • Reinstalling studio (and completely removing %localappdata%/Roblox)
  • Reinstalling the graphics driver (clean install)
  • Clearing all studio registry entries
  • Restarting my computer (obviously)
  • Forcing studio to use the integrated GPU
  • Rolling back the graphics driver to an old version (566.03)
  • Running dxdiag.exe to repair DirectX

Here are my computer’s details:

  • Intel i7-13700H 2.40 GHz
  • GeForce RTX 3050 6GB Laptop GPU
  • 16 GB RAM
  • Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.3194
  • GeForce Game Ready Driver 572.42

I’ve looked all over the dev forum and I’ve found no solutions.
Here’s a video showing the issues:

Here is a crash log:

0.660.0.6600648_20250215T210701Z_Studio_86A96_last.log (451.8 KB)

I figured out the issue is strictly related to DirectX, switching the graphics mode to either Vulkan or OpenGL seems to resolve the issue. Obviously this isn’t the best solution as I’d prefer to just use DirectX but I’ve tried all sorts of things and nothing seems to fix the issues.

I’d appreciate it if anyone could still help me figure out the DirectX issues, but for now I’ll just use Vulkan.
