Fake web browser - What is best for fictional links? (to avoid misleading)

I’ve seen similar posts throughout the forums, but they gave inconsistent answers. A few suggested using .blox as a TLD, but that would show an association with Roblox, which is not what I aim for. I’m not sure if using “https://” will be a problem either.

The fake link that I would like to add is “visitstatia”, and I would like to keep it somewhat similar to real life for aesthetic purposes.

What should I do to ensure that it doesn’t veer too far from real life, but still avoid any possible grey area on misleading?

All help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you’re making a mock web browser change “https://“ to your own made up prefix. For example gta5 uses eye find. It’s going to be obvious with changing https that it’s not a real link and anyone who types it into a web browser isn’t going to get anywhere

Thanks! But what should I change for the “.com” or “.org” part? The TLDs might be too close to real life. I thought about replacing it with a “/“ and removing it altogether, but I’m not sure.

coming from an IT standpoint, https is a protocol to gather information from the webserver youre getting info from, so that doesnt really matter. however stuff like .org, .com, .co.uk etc are real domain suffixes, so create a fake one (as you said, .rblx etc) or create a fully fake domain name that looks encoded (e.g er8766erfg809523gherh.rblx) and do “searches” from an index, similar to the games Welcome To The Game.
eitherway, good luck!
