False DMCA take downs and its DMCA system bugs

Hi. Recently I made an UGC item called Hood of The Forest, and yesterday it got a DMCA strike from a user called “manopukis”:

This person’s account (manopukis) was made 11 years ago:

Also, this person verified his / her account back in 2024 (10 years later, you can check it):

This person’s account was password guessed or bought just to make false DMCA strikes. Here’s a proof:

Just look on the time. These models were made five minutes before he / she verified the account & received the hat. Now, let’s look on one of the models:
image
This person just stole other items from catalog and made them as his / her own model to make false DMCAs for other creators.
All of these models were uploaded on 25th of December 2024.
Now, let’s look onto my item called “Hood of The King”:
image
It was originally inspired from an item called “Hood of Heroes” from RB Battles event (it was a free non-limited UGC):

I used the same mesh and texture in my item, but why does it received a DMCA strike from manopukis, which just inserted the item and uploaded it as his / her own model back in December, 2024.
Also, the group called “QUICK UGC!” steals popular Roblox UGCs, such as RB Battles Season 2 swords and etc:

They even have this description of their community:

They’re stealing models from Roblox’s official account, and then making false DMCA claims on people.
Please, unban my item called “Hood of The King”, because I spent all my wallet on it and my countless time. Also, please, terminate manopukis’s account, because it was stolen or bought on black market. Thanks!
I also tried to appeal it, but didn’t received a great reply:

Also, the minus is that these strikes are permanent, and you can’t even appeal your account if you get your account terminated.
I hope Roblox admins would see it.

I hope their account gets terminated too.

Also, look on this:

You can appeal these strikes by sending a counter DMCA email to copyright_agent@roblox.com. If you need the format for sending a counter there are official references online on how to properly format and provide sufficient information to contest these copyright claims.

Not sure what action Roblox will take with situation like these, but I have no doubt false actors are blatantly abusing the DMCA system to take-down items that aren’t owned by them.

It won’t help. Roblox’s moderation are weirdly stupid, and Roblox won’t review it whatever it’s a false DMCA or not:

You don’t appeal these via Roblox Support, you’re going to have to email them from whatever account was moderated. I know, it’s weird and doesn’t make much sense, but support only really deals with assets taken down by their own moderation

As I said, my UGC was inspired by RB Battles’s UGC which they made back in 2022, and the person called “manopukis” downloaded the item and made it as his / her own model.
My UGC had the same mesh as RB Battles’s one.

This person made a DMCA item by sending a request of a model of a stolen item from RB Battles (link: Hood of Heroes - Roblox)

Look on the join date and when these models created + when the account got verified.
This account got password guessed or bought on 25th of December 2024.

This is kind of off-topic to this bug report, but I’ll concede with the belief this is an alt account being used specifically for falsely claiming items, meshes and textures.

Yeah, but Roblox moderators would still say that “these assets owned by manopukis, so we can’t help you with anything”.

You have to do what I said in my original comment. Email a counter notice to the Roblox support sector that caters to people dealing with DMCA claims. That’s what support is trying to tell you to do

That is weird, I don’t see that usually happen to people . I am not sure if you can do this in emails you send to Roblox , but maybe try sending screenshots as a proof of them copyrighting your items , like what you sent in the post

Roblox moderators are Roblox moderators, they won’t care

You just try anyway , just in case, sometime it could help.

We’re trying to help you, you can research more on how copyright claims work via DMCA and other websites, but Roblox certainly works the same… You contact them to counter a false claim. Otherwise, if you wait too long this strike will be set in stone, and you can’t really remove it from your account.

Email copyright_agent@roblox.com, they will help with you issue and will guide you through the DMCA process. Their agents are legally required to respond in a certain timeframe (usually 48 hours) for legal matters like these. Roblox Support won’t help you and can’t since this is legal and they don’t do that. If you don’t contact the copyright agents, you won’t get your ugc reinstated and you’ll still have your strike.
