Hello, just wanted some feedback on this Famas. So before I start I want to clarify this gun model is made by our gun modeller (I just textured it) and this is for our game Dead’s Calling (DC) which is in the works as of now.

Hello, just wanted some feedback on this Famas. So before I start I want to clarify this gun model is made by our gun modeller (I just textured it) and this is for our game Dead’s Calling (DC) which is in the works as of now.
Here’s a few pictures:
Are the textures procedural or did you paint them?
Cant wait to see the game in full
I’m not a huge fan of some of the details and incongruencies on the model, but as you are not the modeler I’ll refrain from commenting on those.
In my opinion, the texture is okay. It looks realistically worn with grime in the proper places. But it put all together it looks odd and unnatural. The metal looks fine, but the polymer stock and handguard seems to have a visibly studded look to it, which no references of the FAMAS F1 or G2 (this gun looks like a hybrid of both) have. Their polymer components have a much more standard look, at least when it comes to military-issue models. And due to their uncommon nature in the States, there aren’t any aftermarket manufacturers that make grips studded like this that I know of). Lastly, while the studs are mostly confined to the polymer components, I also notice that the bolt carrier is studded, which is not the case in either military-issue parts or aftermarket for any gun I know of.
Overall, this is higher-quality than I’ve seen frequently on the DevForum, but it’s not something I would put in a game just yet. There are a few other nitpicks I have like the lack of printed identifying numbers (like a serial number) but they are less of a concern.
Thank you for the feedback, I would like to mention this is only 5 days into texturing so I’m still fairly new to it, however like you said the studded look is understandable problem is I don’t like going off pure looks by images from the FAMAS F1 or G2 I genrally go for my own creativity behind it reasoning for the difference in textures. Considering this if for a zombies game and your pointing it more so of military and stuff like that not saying it doesn’t have any relevancy to it. However, the way I see creativity is putting your own mix into it rather than just going off by a pure reference and just copying the exact same gun.
That’s just my view on it however, I still thank you for the feedback. This is whole texturing for me has been a blast, I had a lot of fun texturing it. However, like I said before this is just my own style of the famas. And as I have mentioned before, I’m still fairly new to the whole texturing of guns and what not and props in general.
