FBX import via Animation Editor producing too many keyframes and tracks!

What I’m trying to do: split my blender animations up so that I can manipulate arms/legs/misc separately.

What’s broke: Every bone, whether animated or not, and every frame becomes a keyframe. It is therefor an excruciating task of fixing everything. Every bone… every frame… every time.

It’s better if I just show this one with pictures:

What I made in Blender:

Notes: Only using 1 bone, 2 key frames.

What happens when I import FBX file into Roblox via the built in animation editor (yellow is the data I need):

I wonder if there is a method of exporting from blender that I missed, or if Roblox will do this every time… This wouldn’t be so annoying if the Animation Editor permitted deleting more than one track at a time!

(Yes, this particular example could be built from scratch inside Roblox’s editor. Most of my examples cannot.)

This may or may not be the issue: Per the blender manuals: there is a button in the FBX exporter “Key All Bones” that might not be programmed yet.

FBX — Blender Manual

I will research this further…

Problem reported to blender developers here:
:anchor: T52015 Imported FBX Animations contains Unnecessary Keyframes (blender.org)

What we need in Roblox then is a better editor.
