How’s this? its for a hg game

I like it, it looks pretty good. I think it’s kinda bright on the left side which makes me focus on it instead of the character (might just be me) but other than that I don’t see any problems. Nice job! Also you might want to put a watermark on it so people don’t steal it.

It’s a bit too bright, but overall a really nice job!

Sure it is good, but did you have to make it so much bright? Overall pretty good.

The face of the character (which people are naturally drawn to and interested by) is too dark due to the lighting.

its preety good but the left is a bit to bright compared to the left

its supposed to look like that, so you can really tell the lighing feels realistic, you might see a stroke on the left side of the face that proves waht im saying.

you mean left to right? and the sun comes from one angle, not two so its supposed to be shining on it

the left on the bottom i mean i feel like its to bright you can barely see the trees

I know it’s intentional, I’m saying you should consider using different lighting because psychologically, humans are naturally drawn to look at faces and if the face isn’t clearly visible, the GFX will not be as effective at grabbing the interest of your potential players.

Other than that it’s pretty good. I like the glow on the weapon and the angle is interesting.

This is a great GFX! Love the angle of this. The effects on the object the person is holding is pretty good :+1: There are some improvements that can be done on this gfx. Just like what everyone else has said, lighting.

Lighting set up

So you got the basic lighting set up. You understand where the shadows should fall and where the light should hit. That’s pretty good :+1: But the first thing you notice is the left side is really bright. In fact it looks as if the left side is almost completely white. Then you notice the face. It’s not as bright but only and the very edge of the face.

That correct, light only hits on one side so the other side should be dark.

But when you make the gfx, you must think, what is your subject? What do you want your viewers to look at. This can be done with light. With the brightness of the subject. Something that can make your subject pop out. This idea is important when creating gfx.

Now we look at yours.

Subject 1: The person

Blue Markings

Subject 2: The Object the person is holding

Red Markings

This is something that you want the person to look at. So it’s in the center. :+1:
Unfortunately at first glance, the first thing I notice is the extremely bright left side.

So what can be done?

Make the face brighter. Simple as that. You don’t even need to make the whole face bright. Just the side of it. (Again proper lighting technique)
Then you dim the brightness of the left side. It’s way too bright. You don’t need a lot of light to make the gfx stand out. You want the subject to stand out. Light is what guides the viewer’s eye.

Watermark

Never ever forget about using a watermark. Even though lighting can be fixed on this gfx, this is still a stunning gfx and people can and will steal this. Always make sure to put a watermark.

Keep in mind when placing a watermark

  1. Don’t spam watermarks all over the place. We want to be able to see it without having crazy text all over the place.
  2. Don’t place small watermarks in the corners (Unless you prefer this which is fine). People can crop them out.
  3. Lower the transparency of the watermark. It will be able to protect your work while viewers can see what the gfx is.
  4. Don’t make the watermarks to small!!! People can erase them and your work can be stolen
  5. Place the watermarks where it will be difficult to crop out. (Example is near the subject/main thing)

Effects

The left side is completely white. The background shows that the person is outside. This indicates the sun is shining really brightly on the left side. Why not add a sunray effect instead?

Effects are what help your gfx to pop out and look unique. Here are some examples you can add.

You can even add a lens flare effect to the gfx as well!

The effect on the object the person is holding is stunning as it is. I would bring up the vibrance and saturation of the red effects. It will help the object stand out and will grab the attention of the view. (playing around with lighting)

Meshes and Texture

image
You could add some grass texture to this. (if this is supposed to be a flat grassland) It will help bring some realism to the gfx.

If you want to go even more into detail, try adding some grass mesh.

Something like that. Again it will bring more realism and add details to the gfx.

Again your gfx is amazing at it is. I just suggested some tips for great improvement. The more you work on it, you will eventually develop an artistic eye that will help you forwards your gfx career. :slightly_smiling_face: Looking forward to seeing some more work from you!

It looks very good however the bright bit is way to big and is a bit bright, or you could change the colour to make it look a bit better. Overall it’s very good.
