Hello, I made a basic working ladder Nothing that crazy. What are your thoughts about this ladder and how I can make it better.

It’s not really much I ran out of ideas on what to build so I decided to build this. Also I Don’t understand what you mean by making the sides rounded If you can show me a Image It can Help me a bit

By the way If you want to know what image I am going off of it is this image. I was making a wooden version. But Thanks for the feed back.

True I will probably go and remake it in blender When I have the time.

Looks too basic, but for a beginner looks like a good step to becoming a good builder. Keep practicing.

If you decide against making the sides rounded then you could try using the Wood planks material rather then (what seems to be) the wood material.

“Diversify” it maybe? Add different sizes and colors between the steps and the rails? This could add a greater dimension of detail, as well as if you made the steps parts, and the rails cylinder. You could also add some design if you wanted to get really intricate, but with a ladder like this, try to make the design consecutive, and symmetrical (with even spacing between steps). I hope this helps, but nice simple ladder!

Looks too wide, too thick, and the steps are too close together.

I was deciding between wood and wood planks and chose Wood.

True I probably should have added more stuff to make it overall look better.

I don’t see how they are too close. I understand that they are pretty close you could look at TurtlesUnkown’s recommendation and they have similar spacing

It looks really old like 2011 kind of building. Make it more rounder and add more details possibly?

Ok thanks for your suggestion.

I would suggest scaling it with an NBC and a “dummy” model (the actual size of a roblox character). It looks to wide and not aligned. Some tips I would suggest are using the Duplicate and changing the scale rate

Looks like a perfectly normal ladder.
I reccomend though that you add nails on the side of the ladder, to add a tad bit of detail.

I don’t really know how to judge a ladder. I guess it just looks like a good ladder.

I Did that I did Ctrl+D It looks fine to me But thank you

Great job on the ladder! Whether it’s good or not isn’t objective and naturally depends on the style of the scene you are including the ladder in. I will say that it’s certainly a good start if you are a beginner, but I have some improvements I’ll suggest for you. Here they are:

  • Seems a bit wide
The ladder seems a bit wide relative to it’s height, but this might be a design choice of yours for all I know. Once again it depends what you are using it for.
  • The parts are a bit boring
This might be because of the angle, but it seems that all of the parts have the same width. Try experimenting with different types of parts such as cylinders (which got mentioned above), or making the center parts slimmer and placing them infront of the side parts (nailed to them). This is how many real ladders look and would make the ladder “pop” out more. Otherwise you can try adding small details if you want, just look at pictures of ladders and emulate any eye-catching details.
  • Maybe give it a more randomized look?
If you look at one of the posts above which is a real 3D-model made outside of Roblox Studio, you can see that the ladder looks a bit more natural and “random”. If you’re aiming for this, you could try rotating the parts in the center in a similar fashion to the corresponding parts on that picture. You could also make some parts slightly different sizes aswell.

I hope you find my feedback useful and wish you luck in your ladder-building journey. Also if you want, you can post more pictures of the ladder as you progress - I’ll gladly give you feedback and post additional suggestions. :grinning:
