I encourage you not to use free icons, and learn to make your own. The pen tool in the beginning is not easy but the more you work with it the better you’ll be.

If this is the style you are going for, I would practice by trying to recreate the images you got from flaticon, by doing this you get a feel for the style of art. You start to realize the tricks that the artist is using to make his icons then you make your own. Practice makes perfect.
