[Feedback] First DECENT house i've made

Hey guys, I’m barry! I used to be a builder in the anime category back in the days til I yknow… Quit. But some recent events kind of inspired me to become a builder and learn the modern ways of building.
Right now I’m just practicing builds and such but I want some feedback on this house right here. By far my best house product i’ve ever made. But i still feel like something is lackluster. I would appreciate any feedback which would help me improve on it. Every day it seems im getting better. I’m working on low poly meshes and other stuff too but I’m not quite ready to show those off yet.

Also working on a few low poly house designs WIP rn but you can see a few of my first meshes in the background and such. But thats not the main focus lol! Feedback is appreciated, the open space is intentional but decor ideas for next build like this will be great. I soak in information like a sponge
side note: the akatsuki sign means nothing for this build, just wanted to put an image up so it isn’t a brown sign with nothing on it.

Man, that’s not bad at all! It looks really good. Plus low poly meshes can be good for building aswell. It feels like super smooth and you are doing creativity in your building while your getting better and better.

Hello! I really enjoy the worn down and grungy feel to the house overall. It adds a lot of realism you don’t see in a lot of other builds! A few things to note:

  • Proportions: Proportions in building and architecture in general are very important. A few things seem off due to misproportion. For example: the windows on the front of the house (shown in the 2nd picture) are pretty large compared to the door. The guard railings and the door leading to the porch/open area are very short (as seen in the 1st image) as well. I recommend keeping a default r15 avatar and using it for scaling in your build.

  • Colors: The dark red contrasts nicely with the white-ish house itself. A big eyesore is the neon windows though. The orange doesn’t necessarily match the overall palette of the build. Everything’s very drab and worn down then you have these big, bright windows. I personally would imagine a run down house like that to, in fact, have very little lighting inside! Definitely tone down the neon at least.

  • A few other nitpicks: The red lines aren’t spaced evenly throughout the build. This is pretty apparent in the first picture. The lines don’t line up properly. Another quick little thing is that the sign above the entrance isn’t centered.

Other than those few things, it’s a great build. Have a good day/night!

TL;DR: The use of imperfections is great. Work on proportioning properly, using complimenting colors, and a few other small things.

A very nice model! If your going to make an abandoned house in the desert that would be very recommendable! Your house really looks abandoned and dusted though the color just needs a little more work. Great job in all!

Thank you, I’ll definitely try working more on proportions and colors the next house I make like this.

I definitely appreciate the feedback.

Amazing work on the house. It reminds me of the medieval times when houses use to have the design on the walls with stripes going along. I love the how you’ve used a variation of material on the walls to enhance the look of the build and to make it look detailed.

I like it. The one thing that I would change in my opinion is make the roof a little longer. Overall great build :+1:

Looks good. One thing I’m noticing is that your roof needs a better texture. Right now the texture is too small, giving your roof a bare look. Here are a couple of ideas of rooftops you can experiment with.

Good idea actually, I never really thought of making the roof look something like that with all the extra details and materials and texture. Thanks for the suggestion! Will try something like that on my next house build.

Thanks! The roof was intentionally supposed to be like that lol. Preciate the feedback.
