Hey ya’ll, looking for some feedback for my Avatar bending game. My vision for the game is to be a skill-based pvp game, think Rumble VR mixed with Black Magic and Rogue Demon/TSBG. Emergent gameplay is also a big factor in how I’ve been developing thus far.
There is currently only earth bending, and I have no solid plans as of now to add water/fire/air, but it is a possibility in the future. As a big fan of ATLA, I’m quite disappointed with the Avatar games currently on the platform, so I’m setting out to make the best one yet.
This game is currently in pre-alpha, so its largely unfinished. I however have implemented 3 very polished earth bending abilities, as well as a basic combat system to pull it all together.
I haven’t implemented a tutorial GUI yet, so ill post the controls here. (They are unique)
The reason I have made the controls using keys like W A S D and Space is because I want to give the player the feeling that they are “moving” while bending, as opposed to simply using tools or pressing buttons. It also opens the door for a very dynamic and emergent gameplay experience, as you can already tell by playing this unfinished demo.
