Feedback for my Fighting Game

Hi DevForum

I’ve been working on this fighting game akin to YBA or ABA that is still in its early stages. I plan to make this game a roguelite dungeon crawler, like Soul Knight the mobile game or HOURS, along with PvP elements. So far, I’ve established a base combat system and even coded a few abilities. It also comes with Skill-trees.

Here is the demo for the game, so you can try it out

Some key things I need feedback for:

  1. Is the game fun? Could you see yourself playing this game against other players or NPCs regularly?
  2. Is the combat too hard? Too easy? How do you fair against the NPCs I’ve placed in? (Some of them are NOT pushovers, just be ready!)
  3. Is the VFX up to somewhat of a standard to other games? I’m still a beginner with particles, but I just want to know if it would be a turnoff for some.

I plan on reworking the Abilities menu as well as the map, but right now I’m just focusing on making the base of the game.

A list of abilities to try out:
/e harbinger
/e fire
/e limitless
/e heights
/e projection
/e superhuman

After using these commands, you will have to go back to the menu using /e menu and fill out their respective skill trees. You should start with $1000 to buy weapons. Keep in mind I think the Greatsword charge move is broken, and I haven’t fixed it yet…

Its obvious… so that random people wont play random undone games. (I am not pointing finger for this game as I haven’t played yet)

Ah. My bad.

Also if you can’t move, it’s really weird IDk why it happens. just reset.

It’s also nowhere near finished, just a demo.

Wow not bad at all. Its quite well polished a thing that I don’t see a lot in games on the devforum and the GUI is also quite amazing another element I don’t see a lot in games. One thing that is annoying is how big the skill tree information box is and the fact that the models for guns/swords are a bit low quality. But oh well nothing tooooo bad.

Though the game does feel like an r6 game while it is a r15. Would be better as an r6 but thats just my opinion.

I made it r15 because honestly I was lazy and I already programmed a ragdoll module for r15. I didn’t want to have to go through all the pain again.
With the weapon models, I do agree. The katana, as well as the other weapons were the first thing I’ve ever modelled, so they’re pretty bad. I might get around to watching a tutorial or hiring someone to model them for me.

I’ll probably also add a scaling option for UI elements, like the Skill tree box or other things like the healthbar.

Thanks for playing my game and giving good feedback, it means a lot

It’s a pretty good game! I see alot of potential in that game  (made the bots fight lol)

I like what you did with the effects and animation and the way people could upgrade their skills. Very amazing!
