Overall Feedback
Whilst your stable building does have the right shape, and looks very much like a stable, there are definitely a few additional things that I would choose to personally modify and add within your build to make it slightly better. Right now, your colour scheme doesn’t fit the actual build itself, and I think you could also try and build within a more ambitious style, instead of playing it safe by using SmoothPlastic parts with pastel colours, which therefore creates a cartoony style most of us are familiar with.
Colours
Despite you being happy with your colour selection, I would definitely still change it, as you have multiple beige colours without much difference in your walls and windows. You have used grey and white parts to try and create a metallic look, which is always a positive start. Your building isn’t very easy on the eyes because there’s no difference within the colours that you use. The beams supporting the roof are the same colour as the walls and windows, whilst your doors do have a slightly darker colour to them.
If you haven’t been using the Color3 yet, it’s honestly one of your best friends in building! It can help you get perfect colours for your desired building and is something I use more than the regular colour selector. You can play around with the colour itself, and the brightness/darkness of said colour. That being said, you should make the roof slightly darker with a whiter tone, and your windows could possibly be darker in colour, similar to your doors. These are only suggestions, your call!
Materials
You’ve only used one material within your build, which is SmoothPlastic, except from the sand which I assume is an obvious design choice for the sand within the stables themselves. For this particular build, I would probably choose to use Wood and Wood Planks, or find your own textures of your own. This could probably help you achieve more depth within your build and create differences where mot of the build seems repeated and slightly bland. Also, you could consider placing textures over materials to make loads of different combinations and styles, just don’t go overboard if you want to optimise it.
Details
You should definitely add some more detail in the form of props, vegetation and some lighting too. Those horses shouldn’t be living in the dark!
Here are some ideas of things you could consider adding to make your build better.
- Plenty of crates and wooden boxes
- Hay barrels, buckets of water and apples
- More bushes, along with some trees around the back of the stables
- Some different farming equipment
- Lanterns and/or gas lamps outside stables to provide lighting
Most of the time, you can never add too much detail into anything, unless of course you don’t want your build to run like a toaster in game! Good luck with your build, as you’ve definitely got the basics down and have plenty to improve on.
