Feedback for overhead UI

I’m currently working on a simulator game about ranks.
I’ve made an overhead tag displaying the leaderboard positions & the current rank of the player, however, it seems off in my opinion.

I would like to receive feedback on how I could make this look better!

Well, the rank icon is a little large, and I personally think that showing leaderboard positions above the players head is pretty pointless, if someone wants to look at the leaderboard they’ll walk over to it and look at it. Plus, it just takes up a lot of space.

If you want the leaderboard positions to still be shown on the client, create a stats page in the menu somewhere where the players stats are shown, and their global position next to it, like this:

It looks good! The statistics below the grey thing take up too much space though. Try to make it more compact.

Looks fine for me, i think u should make the ranking icons small.

Do you have any suggestions, or do you mean just making them smaller?

There’s just too many items there. You could maybe show only 2-3 best results or make them vertical and appearing only when another player comes nearby.

Like someone already mentioned, is leaderboard spots that important to be displayed in a place where character health usually is.

Right now I got this, is it better?

Make them so they align vertically instead of horizontally. You could also just make it a “statistics” feature on the side with a separate GUI where players can check it.

I was planning on displaying it in a statistics frame after hearing the feedback.

Yeah, that’s a good idea. As long as it doesn’t take up too much of the screen.

If you want it to show more things maybe make it expand and show them when hovering your mouse over a player
