Hello! I built a clothing store, and I am pretty happy with it - just looking for some tips.
The aim:
A tropical-colored clothing store using reds, yellows, oranges, and other colors to create a unique sense of fashion.
To make a small, cute clothing store that showcases not only my developing skills, but the clothing that will be shown - in a positive light.
This build should be partially modern, but with a sense of elegance, taste, and maybe a BIT of old-fashioned added in to kind of create that amazing contrast I see in a lot of builds.
I wasn’t going for detail here - or trying to replicate what a “real” clothing store would look like, but trying to create a clothing store that exuded wealth, and was just generally well designed for the ROBLOX platform.
I will work to make the girls section more clear - I am just realizing it isn’t clear enough.
I will add in a door, and the roof I will try to fix by adding in some details and more.
I think you only want feedback on the clothing store, but the trees outside don’t match.
Your home store is well built and the floor’s texture is great. I think there’s an abundance of lighting, maybe reduce that and add more variation to them. Also the second part of the store resembles the first part too much. (Feels like you duplicated it, not in an offensive way or anything!) Maybe add some diversity to the second part.
Also like a spotlight for some clothes, some clothes you really want to highlight;
Found a little glitch, maybe some invisible part overlapping with the spawn.
(You can walk in the air and jump onto the white building)
The color of these letters don’t match the color scheme of the store;
The mix between low-poly/Untextured assets and textured/realistic assets don’t fit well together imo(the low-poly tree outside compared to the mostly realistic inside like @z4ayn said ). I think a way you could fix this sis by matching the colour themes. like you said, your using lots of reds, yellows, oranges and other warm colours on the build. so maybe match the tree leaves to that colour. Just an idea.
Another example of things not matching is the hedges outside. They’re not detailed and the colour doesn’t match the rest of the build.
As far as the interior goes I think it’s very good. The only thing that bugs me is this area with the cobblestone Material. I feel like it should be a different material it just doesn’t match well imo. Also I think having an area/room kind of sectioned of for clothes would be a bad idea as I think a lot of people wouldn’t find it/ would just go to the other clothes first and that would result in them not buying the clothes in there. You could make that room just a storage room or something.
Another thing is the surroundings of the main store. The buildings look quickly made compared to the main build and doesn’t really fit in with the clothing store. I think this could give a bad first impression when they join. I suggest maybe changing up the whole scene around it or add some more detail and recolour some things.
Other than those few little things it’s a great build!
Thanks for the tips! If I was to sell, reccomended price…? (After fixing all of these issues, I am working hard in studio but also multi-tasking with some other commisions)
Sorry if I offended you by what I’ve said. If this offend you I’m sorry, I’m simply trying to help out. And using free models is not bad (if you’re a builder and using free model builds thats not good) using free model scripts as a builder is fine, but only use necessary scripts. I think you could get 1k-2k for this.
Working in studio to fix all of the things described above, of course this is being updated and I forgot to add that to the topic.
The following for free models:
I was testing out what trees would look like, so I won’t be using those trees - I have made my own in the past and plan to do so for this game.
I wanted to showcase how the clothing mannequins would look inside, those aren’t part of the “build”.
Basic rank giver was given to me by a scripter when I commissioned for my own group a while back.
In general when I said feedback, I meant about the clothing store itself, when selling, I would be editing the city to match the person’s requests and intended group design. The city itself wouldn’t be used in the same way…
Thank you so much for the colliding parts help, I will be editing those shortly… good eye! If you have any other suggestions, don’t be afraid to tell me, like details for the homestore itself…?
I’d say probably around 2k+ or more. If you improve the outside too (buildings) then probably 2-3k+. Not that sure, I can probably give you a proper answer after the things are fixed.
(I’ve seen really simplistic buildings sell for 500ish, a pretty detailed homestore like this will probably fetch in the thousands.)
