I’m currently making a helmet for my monkey model. The helmet however looks like a football helmet not something a knight would wear. I’m not sure how to make the back of the helmet either. I’m also going to add a shark fin type piece to the top of the helmet to add more detail. How could I make this helmet better and more like something a knight would wear?

I suggest you look in games such as Swordburst 2 with examples such as the Kobold Helmet for reference. It looks… acceptable I guess. Though there are lot’s of room for improvement.
instead of using only sphere u can join it with cylinder to create more slim shape
