[FEEDBACK] Low poly sword I made in Blender

Ladies, gentlemen, dogs, cats, mother and any other living being that may be reading this, I have made yet another weapon. It is a sword. It took around an hour and a half. Here is a simple image of it.

  • I would like to make it a bit better.
  • I am experiencing difficulties with something. It seems off balance but I can’t seem to find what doesn’t feel right.
  • I have tried sizing it differently but honestly I think it may just be because it’s a bit cartoony.

So far I think it’s going quite nice but I’d love some opinions and suggestions.

First off, I really like the blade and the shape of it. I think the balance issue you’re seeing could be the length of the handle, because in this image it seems almost as long as the blade itself. Either shortening the handle or making the blade longer could help with this.

The only other thing I see that could be throwing off the “balance” is the guard. If it was turned on its side it looks like it could be nearly as long as the handle as well.

Hey Dude! How is it going? Your sword looks very well detailed. Something that throws me off is the three spikes at the bottom. They seem too be a little off center. Also, Try adding some textures too the sword. When textures are added too sword and these types of things, they make the model give more reliability.

How do I use textures in Blender? I’ve only been using it for like 4 days.

Do you think that this would be better? I have tried to add the proportions you described to me.

Looks much better in my opinion, but keep playing with it until you’re satisfied with the general shape of it.

Look’s like a perfect sword to be used in a quest game! It would be a perfect feature to use in cartoonish / low poly games! Keep up the great work!

It’s nice but the end part:

Should line up with the blade and be even.
