(Feedback) Low Poly Terrain

-Hello Developers I am creating a “Low Poly” type game and this is the field that I liked most of the ones that I have created and I want to share it with you to give me suggestions to improve it since I will create it on a large scale and I want it be attractive to all players

-This is the type of terrain that I want to create on a large scale the question is:

-Is something missing?
-¿If it is well combined?

-Leave me your suggestions I am new in construction and you would support me a lot

-Sorry if you don’t understand something my English is not very good

Hey @DefaulSix, I have a few suggestions and comments about your build.

First off, the transition from grass to stone looks too jagged/zig-zag, I suggest making it more round:

Secondly, unless this is a waterfall, the river should be leveled:

Overall this is an awesome start and I can see it appealing to a large number of players.

Good luck!

Of course I will fix the mistakes and when I make the map on a large scale I will take your advice and apply them in the best way

Did you make this in Blender? If you did, it would be tough to make this on a larger scale because Roblox has a hard time solving collision models for large meshes.

It can be mitigated by breaking the mesh into small chunks and combining them, but that isn’t guaranteed to work.

I didn’t do everything in roblox studio with a plugin that helped me a lot

Hi,
I do love a good lowpoly build as I do them myself as I like simplicity.
Everything seems okay, but one thing you could do is the change between the water to grass the mountain is very solid.
In respect that it is very hard making lowpoly Terrain but I hope I have helped steer you into making a better build.

incredible.
great colour varation, and proportions.
i would however recommend that you have applies smoothing in some aerias like the river so as to free up perhaps more volitile terrain options elsewhere.
also the mountains look maybe alittle too sharp while the grass looks perhaps too flat.

did you use an engine to make this ?
if so i would also recommend “aeria” waves to “finish” after the render.

overall incredible build.
even more so if done by hand, (but lacks utility)

From the images you provided all I can say is that it looks great! I haven’t worked with low-poly terain myself, but in my opinion you did a good job.

I think from a birds eye view it will look great, but I don’t know how it would look up close. I guess that depends on what you want your game to be. Either way I would love to see the end result.

Good luck.

Really love the terrain so far. If I would recommend anything at the minute, I would consider adding trees and/or vegetation.

I really recommend you and any builder to try out blender and model your own terrain meshes for this type of stuff

Can’t stress it enough, the UI is the most intimidating part but I’m sure anyone can overcome it within several days or so

This plane/low-poly terrain isn’t bad at all, but importing meshes that you model from blender is not only more efficient for workflow, but as well as keeping a consistent style/theme for your game (i.e trees, rocks that match well)
