Feedback Lowpoly Birch Tree

(This tree is referenced off the ‘river birch’)

Hello, I created a birch tree and I want some feedback. :+1:

(Very aware of the texture not linking. It was quite a mess to texture the tree ;). )

the tree looks very good the only thing id suggest is that you put the leaves a little scatterd up wards then just it looking straightly

So I know you talked about the textures not linking but if you want to fix that,

  1. Start putting seams across your mesh, remember that the seams will create sharp cutoffs in the texture of the mesh. Then, I suggest going to the UV editing workspace and then while in edit mode and select all by hitting A (I’m assuming you’re in blender) hit UV then hit unwrap. UV unwrapping is something that if you haven’t learned already, I am going to say you should DEFINITELY learn, as it is one of the essential things that helps with texturing and optimizing your model. A good way of telling if your model has bad UV’s if adding a material then adding a checker texture to it. If you see alot of stretching there, start adding some seams where it seems reasonable. (Hit 2 while in edit mode to do edge select and right click with edges selected to mark seam)
  2. Use texture painting. If you don’t want to learn UV unwrapping right now, just hit A then click UV (in edit mode like before) then hit Smart UV Project, and adjust the island margin to about 0.3 then apply it. Then go to the texture painting tab and just start painting. You can change your brush to a texture by using a texture as a mask or just paint with it, but because this is probably a lot to learn, I suggest doing the first option.
