The automated terrain generation is a nice feature. Since it’s composed of blocks, it creates some strange visual effects when seen at a distance, as shown here:
There’s not much that can be done about that, so moving on:
I was disappointed to find that I couldn’t remove any of the natural terrain: I could only destroy blocks I myself had placed. Consequently, being unable to create a building flush with the terrain gave me the big sad.
I agree with this. Not just block types to place down, but also extra block types that can be found in the terrain, such as rocks, snow, trees, etc.
I actually took part in a small discussion a while back about what defines a game as a game. Right now, I feel like this is lacking certain features to be considered a true game. The most prominent thing that comes to mind is that there’s no apparent goal or direction in which I’m supposed to go. There’s simply not enough content in the game right now.
