As I understand it, the game is in the “Cartoon” style. In that case, the first version of Wave Progression Bar is better.

Yes, this option is better than the second. Make it less contrasting than the overall interface.

The “Wave” should be left in the same place as in version 2. If you want to return to the previous Wave Progression Bar, make its background more contrasting.
