Hello, I’ve been working on a game called “Tornado Alley Ultimate” since September of 2018, and it has had a fairly decent following since. Tornado Alley Ultimate is a natural disaster survival that has been around on ROBLOX since 2012 in the form of older games in the series. While it mostly emphasizes on tornadoes, there are 8 other natural disasters that can occur too after a tornado round. You can also break your bones, and find loot items to help you survive (including a shelter key that can allow you to enter the underground shelter to escape.)
However, I’d really like to find ways to increase Day 7 retention and Week 1 retention. While they aren’t terrible, I think there’s much room for improvement. I was hoping some of you could provide feedback on what may push you away from the game. Is the concept easy to understand? Is the UI friendly enough? Are some aspects too confusing? Is the game too difficult? Too easy? Etc.
I’ve considered doing the following to increase player retention:
- Daily rewards of some sort to bring players back
- More satisfying reward animation when you survive a round
- A more visual-based tutorial
- Breaking your skull (through the broken bones mechanic) causes you to be paralyzed. I was considering raising that threshold to prevent newer players from immediately paralyzing themselves.
If you have time and are interested, I would greatly appreciate feedback on the game. Thanks so much.
If you could please leave feedback below rather than the in-game feedback section, that would be great. Thank you!!
