Thank you for reading!
I am unsure if you made the plane system or not, but regardless, the actual flying mechanics do kinda lack a lot on some realism, the biggest of my complaints being the completely non-functional HUD in first-person view, and the physics/ flying characteristics of the aircraft.
Regarding the HUD, it pretty much does not exist. There is a green crosshair filling the center of the screen, but I do not believe it is supposed to represent the HUD of the aircraft, it seems more for the plane POV camera angle. That does make using the actual gun, rockets, and missiles of the A-10 more difficult, but that really is the least of the worries.
Regarding flying, the plane is essentially just stuck to the direction it faces, my example being that rolling the A-10 doesn’t actually change the direction of flight or cause the aircraft to yaw. You can still fly the plane pretty normally by performing banked turns, aileron rolls, etc., but the flying mechanics did catch my eye. Again not too big of an issue.
Besides all these however, my biggest complaint and the biggest bummer to the game is really the map itself, and the poor optimization.
The map is really way too small for the A-10, and realistically is probably just barely big enough for a runway. Plus, the “dust” really makes it quite difficult to perform any combat runs on the test buildings, as you have to get very close to even reveal them past the dust storm.
The optimization is also quite poor. Destroying the buildings with the A-10’s main cannons lagged the mess out of me for a minute or so, and the buildings do not actually respawn, making it a pretty big mess, and a single-use target for the most part.
There are definitely arguments to be made of the quality of the map, and the game overall. But, in my opinion, the plane is probably fine for what you’re going for with this game, and the focus should be improving the map ten-fold, and improving the optimization of the game (in addition to adding more targets of course).
As a testing game for the A-10 (assuming you refer to testing the capabilities of the plane, and/ or the skill of the player as the pilot), there is a ton of competition out there, and with the issues presented, I don’t think this game is that great for a training place at the moment.
To be frank, the game does look pretty shabby and quickly put together, which is likely why there is a lack of features. But, there’s not to say that the game doesn’t have potential, it just needs a lot of improvement where it matters.
Put fourth effort, and I’m sure you’ll have good results. I hope my feedback was useful, and have a great day/ night.
Thanks, I knew all of that.
As I said, I’m trying to get a few more players onto my game for more feedback first.
I actually made the game for my sister, cause she likes that plane and so do I.
And no, I didn’t make the A-10; Yet I am the one making the functions of the map, and the map.
Also, there’s not a “sandstorm.” It’s just the Roblox render distance.
Update:
I found out there is a first person view. Press P
Update 2:
I am also going to be updating it and adding a bulletin board for updates.
It will become a full game soon.
