This is the first level of a map im currently making which will include several backrooms levels.
I just recently finished the first one, and i would love feedback.
I utilized a darker atmosphere to give it a more horrific feeling, as well because it looks more unique in my opinion.
It is very well made !
The only thing i would suggest is to make the wall textures a bit less visible by increasing their transparency by 0.2 or 0.3 because it make a bit too much contrast in my opinion ^^
Backrooms (level 0) is supposed to be bright as hell. From my perspective , since you’re going to make other levels you can make this one bright as it’s supposed to be
The point here is to do something unique, different than other backroom games, it isn’t because the “original” backroom level 0 is full bright that everyone absolutely have to do it bright too… like if you want to make it full red or blue color instead of yellow, why not, as well as creating new level nobody has seen.
It would be boring if all backrooms games were exactly same, no ?
This is fine, just don’t call it backrooms 0, lol. You can make other levels, that haven’t already been established completely. The whole backrooms lore is made for you to expand, instead of making level 0 but then also changing it’s fundamental features
There is a lot of levels variations, like in some game the level 0 is full yellow bright, and in other the level 0 have a red carpet on floor, and yellow, sometime white walls.
You’re free to design your level however you want as long as it follow the same lore and giving the same feeling and ambiance to the player, like the level 0 have to be like an empty labyrinth with similar rooms everywhere in which you feel like to take the same path again and again that confuse you.
I love how you made the roof tiles 3d instead of using a texture, so you could make broken ones and the lights are actually in the roof. I think it looks amazing. Also, since a lot of people are talking about the brightness of the map, I think that brightness is just about perfect. In my opinion, it being slightly darker makes it scarier.
