I just took a first crack at a trailer for my game “Pet Fortress” and I’m looking for some feedback. It’s only 30 seconds to fit within the constraint, so let me know of any improvement or feedback, it would be much appreciated! It feels about impossible to cram everything in just a short time.
Love it! Incredibly high quality, (1080p, sheesh).
One thing I want to note is that the video ends right after the ‘test servers open now’ stops fading, which leaves viewers with little time to see it.
Honestly, I kinda wanna play the game now.
Hmm, that might be because I had to trim the last few seconds off the video on YouTube so that Roblox would let me use it as a thumbnail- wouldn’t accept a submission past 32 seconds. Maybe I’ll need to trim it so it ends with that showing
one of the starting points was the weapons kit but I’ve had to heavily modify it to fix a number of issues and improve it. It can handle a lot more weapon types in my game now and I have custom systems for explosions/grenades/buildables/bots etc.
Definitely would be good to make the player play the game one their on the page.
I’m not sure what is meant by this- do you mean put the trailer on the game page? I’ve submitted for that but I guess it has to be approved first.
Oh that’s good to hear. A lot of games just take that system, put it as is in the game, and reap profits.
What I was trying to say was that a lot of the time, a player would click on your ad, but then look at the main game page like, where the description, pictures/video are showed and just leave because there was nothing interesting there.
the test server is up currently, i just sent a new update today so hopefully no new bugs I’ve yet to discover But it’s fully playable right now, playtests have been a blast.
Oh thanks for the kind words! Happy to hear you had fun even just vs bots. It’s obviously more fun with teams of players (the bots get toned down/fewer as people join) but that’s only happening during play tests at the moment.
