Feedback on a WWI "Trench Game" [Devlog]

Thanks for the feedback friend!

Preferably a game, but seeing as my programming skills aren’t the greatest it will likely be just an immersive/interactive showcase. :frowning:

And as for the lighting, in-game it isn’t as bad as it looks in the screenshots seen here.

I think it is a Gewher 98 or a Mauser or maybe a Lee-Enfield or something.

I know that it’s an M1 Garand for at least three reasons.

First, this is the mesh he used.

Second,

They’re the same.

Third, all of the weapons you mentioned have a manually operated bolt. This one clearly does not have that.

Fourth, Mauser is an incredibly vauge term. Assuming you’re meaning the Kar-98 when you say that, that gun was also not in service during World War 1.

Sorry, I am not really good at world war guns

But is pretty hard to see the gun and determine which model it is because of the darkness.

Awww thanks man! I try to make the lighting in my experiences as realistic as possible, so it really means a lot to me.

Don’t stress it friend, everybody makes mistakes, and if it weren’t for people like @takenmake, there wouldn’t be many people to let us know that we’ve made a mistake lol.

Heyo everyone! I created a new scene in Trenchline! This is supposed to be filler for one end of the trench (starter end). It has basically no function other than to be a scenic barrier. Hope you guys like it!

As always, feedback is much appreciated!

It’s cool but that truck model was designed and produced in 1941, I wouldn’t recommend using it if your goal is most likely an immersive showcase. Looks good though.

Thanks so much for the feedback friend! Didn’t realize that the truck was that late of a design…I’ve been having a hard time keeping a good balance between aesthetics and historical accuracy tbh. Thanks again for the feedback!

ooh fire… however, I think you should place the truck on fire slightly away from the trench line cause no one is going to build a trench where there is fire.

And in the second picture it kinda looks too odd, gives me Forgotten Memories vibes.

So so sorry for the late reply friend!

Thanks for the feedback! The truck was supposed to have been hit and abandoned after the trench was already built, during the heat of battle I suppose. Also, it’s just supposed to be a scenic barrier. I gotta cut off the trench at some point, and I figured this was a cool way to do it.

Another scene! As always please be sure to let me know what you guys think!

I think the fire is not orange enough. It looks like a white light, with a hint of orange.

Interesting thought friend! Honestly I didn’t really think much of that until you mentioned it…how’s this?

That’s better, but I think a tiny bit more orange is needed. Double the amount you added.

Another scene! Though it is not fully done, feel free to let me know what you guys think!

How’s this?
