Feedback on admin panel design

Hi guys,

It’s been a bit since I’ve done one of these! I’ve still been making my admin panel design independently, so I think I should open up to some community feedback. Here’s everything as it stands:

Main panel stuff

New admin wizard

Everything in those menus is currently done and programmed. It’s taking me forever to do, but I think it’s turning out well so far. Please let me know what you think!

As much as I wished this would look good but it didn’t! One more thing is that why do people just say “Looks good, nice job on it.” when they can simply like? If you don’t have feedback then just like its wayy better. Anyways, enough off the stupidness and let’s get on with the feedback.

(THIS WILL BE LONG)

Too close with the border

image
Icon and text too close and icon too big.

image
Too much empty space here.

image
Same as above. (Bad padding and icons too big and close to text.

image
Same as above. (Empty space. [More emptier than my mind lol.])

image
Uneven padding. (ew)

image
Almost no padding and bad alignment. Also too close to text.

image
Not centered

image
Image clipping + the minimize option should be a dash ( - ) and not an underscore ( _ ).

image
Bad looking shadow or stroke. Should be on all sides and should be light.

image
Bad coloring choice. Does not blend well.

Should be in the form of chips to make it look better. i.e should be distinct.

image
GUI clipping.

TOO MUCH EMPTY SPACE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Uneven padding, not properly centered, lack of distinctions.

Same as the one above.

Should probably have an icon and the green back looks bad.

image
Too big icons.

image
It touches the navbar so that looks bad. Add some space.

Not properly spaced and text also looks very dark and the green box looks bad. Should match the theme and be some color of blue with white text.

Too big button and too much text you put there which is boring and I see some typos as well.

The preview text should be on top and spaced and the button is bigger then your mom’s… heart. Yes! Heart! Your mothers heart!

Uneven padding for the member id tab I suppose. The X should be on the top right corner and I hate the fact that you display the type with the name. The type should be at the bottom. Also displaying id is stupid. Maybe display something else like member count, follower count, rank, etc.

image
Title smaller then button!? Is this opposite day or something? Also uneven padding and spacing and not the best choice of image selection you got. I also suggest changing the button style to a slider button.

TOO BIG BUTTON RAHHHHHHHHHH. IT’S BIGGER THEN MY BRAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Too much text as well.

Aaaand, that’s about it! Wow! That took long!

Good luck reading this. You will need it. I won’t provide answer to everything because that requires me writing a whole gosh darn essay because the solutions are too many…

One thing, for coloring use this website: 🎨 Material Design Colors, Color Palette | Material UI or roblox’s brickcolors because those bois looks uhmazing!

Thanks for the reply (and actual feedback), was hoping somebody would actually do it. I’m. it able to fix everything right now, but here’s my counter to things I think look fine:

I think they are aligned but the UIListLayout or the icon is messing it up. I’ll check again but I swear I aligned them.

Do you have anything you suggest I add there? It’s reserved for text mainly.

I did that because I thought it looked bad to the very left but I’ll try again.

Intended (like the notification)

That is a scroll bar I forgot to hide.

Just a bug where the notification wasn’t closing.

I again don’t know what to fill it with so it’s just blank. When the user has more installed apps, it gets less empty. This is the design I made when prototyping it:

I couldn’t find an icon which even slightly resembled “more” but I’ll make the background white to be more consistent.

It does have space, there is just no proper transition. I’ll think about adding a possible fade or something else.

That’s how you identify the user, you type in the ID. I’ll look into more useful metadata for the user, I’m just low on space. I’ll relocate the X though.

Originally it did say “Hidden” and “Visible” but I thought that was confusing, so I changed it to enabled/disabled. Can you show me an example of the slider button?

On all of them I’ll make the button smaller though.

Originally (a long time ago) the design was more inspired by material, and now I dislike material UI. I’ll try and fix the colors though.

Thanks again for the list, will fix everything as soon as possible. Anything I didn’t reply to will be fixed to what you said. A lot of the issues are caused by Roblox’s poor UI tools but will be fixed anyways.

Yep no problem. I hope I wasn’t too much of a critic!

Alright but I’d suggest spacing everything away from the border using ui padding in OFFSET mode. Because offset stays same.

Nope, one thing is to decrease size. And then increase size based on text length.

Use offset padding then.

I see, try putting it in the center then.

Use google but 'kay:

Not really, if you don’t know how to use roblox then the limitations are just your skills.

Anyways, the things I didn’t respond to means that they were just an “okay” kinda response and I am not gonna write another essay for this.

All done. Here’s everything you suggested (not in a live server so nothing is really correct):

(incase you still think it’s off because it looks like that to me:)

image

This page was centered (i think) but I made the boxes a bit more wide. The green lines were there but it gets hard to center stuff when there’s a lot on one page:

image

I did a bit more work on this page (unsure why I kept it with a solid background for so long), but I made the button white (like the rest of the theme), left-justified what should be, and generally cleaned it up.
(don’t mind the off center install header on the 1st one)

Left-justified this one:

Left justified and added your suggestions:

Probably the biggest rework out of the bunch. Left-justified, added more metadata (dnames for users, member counts for groups)

IO might end up undoing the left justified next/finish button, but bsides that, I think it’s much improved, thank you!

It’s not everyday you see someone doing what you said. (This was terribly worded LOL)
Anyways thanks for taking in-to account my suggestion! Though, let me give some more >:3.

image
Should have more padding to it and I see that the inner corner is slightly more than the outer one. Use offset or just manually adjust it.

image
Make icon smaller and put the + sign at the top right corner.

image
Lower this down.

image
Should have equal padding on all sides. I hate that the sides are more spaced then the top.

image
Love this but the buttons should be moved down a bunch and,
image
this should have equal padding.

image
Try decreasing the size and yet again using uniform padding overall.

image
image
image
image
Too small text and too big buttons. Make the text a bit bigger and buttons smaller.

image
Unequal padding and too big text and try making the button a little bit smaller. Like just a tiny winy bit. And do this for the rest of the things.

image
The circle should be inside and the background green box thingy should have the same corner radius as the circle itself. Use inspiration for this! Also add a maybe tick icon or cross icon or something.

Indeed! Center it up and make it in the center.

No problem but I am sure at the bottom of your heart you would hate me for my nitpickyness.
