What’s up, folks!
It’s been a long year since I’ve ever touched Studio and made a new game. I’m proud of showing you a game that I’ve been working on for the past month and a half, and I’d like to get feedback from it! It’s the first time I’ve actually put dedication into building, the game is still not finished and misses some details, but this should be the 80% of the game done.
It’s the first time ever I’ve made an obby. I’m open for any critique! Let me know if this game could have potential, it’s something that I should work on and keep working on, if it’s satisfying.
Of course I’ll add more Obbies on the long run if it gets enough players. Please if you have time come check it out! I highly appreciate whoever gets in and get me an idea of the general public. Have fun!
This game will be set to Private in 72 hours from now on.
Lobby looks nice and simple.
I unfortunately don’t like the tower’s gameplay design. It’s just going in a upwards square-shaped spiral. At least some of the obstacles are interactive… (like the switch flipping the platforms to the correct position)
Well, it might attract players that play these types of obby games, just make sure there are checkpoints for every 1 or 2 sections… (because the people that play said games hate falling very far)
nope, just look at the obbies on the front page, they all have a gimmick like a bike, pogo, parkour, do something like that, your style of obby is too outdated. 1 month and an half for this ? did you work on it on and off for 1 hour a day ?
Thank you, but I’m not doing this obby to end up in the front page, I’ve wanted to recreate those aesthetic tower obbies that get a decent amount of players.
I principally worked more on the mechanics, I introduced some kind of new mechanics. But thank you regardless.
I think this game is well made, however I have few unfortunate news for you. The stages were unique , I personally liked the green tube the most. However, there is barely any incentive for the players to reach the top, no award or whatsoever is rewarded and after beating the tower the player has no more intention to try again, which will affect your retention time negatively. Tower of hell has repetitive stages, but players still enjoy them each time they play. This due to the unique selling point of tower of hell which is shortcuts. Shortcuts increases the user engagement.
So I suggest finding something that only your game can offer.
To conclude, this game will compete against tower of hell, as of now it seems like a debris.
Thanks for the review!!
Oh yeah, I’m adding badges, I’ve just had to still make them, if that’s what you’re saying.
Otherwise, I’d like to add like plushies as rewards, a funny side-task, remember that this game isn’t done, I just wanted a feedback on the mechanics and playability, and regard that I am satisfied on it and working on finishing it.
Let me know if this idea inspires you!
When hovering over a GUI button the “Invite friends” goes beyond my screen making the text cut off (I am on a computer)
Also, when hovering over any GUI buttons it makes a weird movement.
I suggest putting the Invite friends just on the side like the other GUI buttons, it would be easier for scaling for each device.
