Feedback on Animation

I recently made this animation (all feedback welcome) just wanted to know what you thought as I’m making a game where you look at animations. Also game is not finished, I just want feedback for one animation which looks like this.

I had to make the game public since I couldn’t upload a video of it.

The game: (5) Animation Viewer. - Roblox

(Right click to open it.)

Haha nice work! The third one is funny.

It’s too slow and messy. If you’re gonna do this, make it quicker and cleaner, and/or use a cleaner animation system that’s compatible with roblox, like blender.

It’s pretty decent! Although I would like to ask a few questions before giving my thoughts and feedback;

  • What animation program did you use?
  • How long have you been animating?
  • What is the second animation about? (idk it reminds me of the Super Mario World death animation)

1.Too slow
2. No anticipation for the jumping

Its too LINEAR. I get the feel that this is an animation, not a person jumping and doing tricks.

I used moon animator, I hate the default Roblox animator.

I have been animating for only a couple weeks.

And the second animation was supposed to be a person jumping and falling over.

overall its very good

tho it could use some easing and some tweaking

but overall its very good as a beginner :+1:

You’re on the right track for these animations although, they’re incredibly slow and pretty linear.

Walking and then sitting down animation

  • Movement could be sped up a bit
  • Walking animation could use more frames
  • The legs are clipping though the ground

Jumping then falling animation

  • Movement could be sped up
  • Could have more frames
  • Make the reason why she fell obvious

Climbing animation

  • Animation is super liner
  • Movement could be faster
  • Could use more frames

what do you mean by linear could you explain that for me?

linear means extending or arranged on a straight or nearly straight line. The path and movement of the animations don’t really “flow”, more like start and stop abruptly because the avatar poses on each keyframe are so different that it looks janky. Try editing the keyframe’s tweening for something smoother like in the examples below.

Liner Tweening:

Cubic, InOut Tweening:

You can even use Back Tweening to make your animations look bouncy.
