Feedback on Back Alleyway Build

This is my attempt at recreating an Back Alleyway for a bit of combat, but I can’t shake the feeling that is kind of repetitive and too spacious. Would I need more different props to really install the feeling of it being a real back alley, I’d like to avoid decreasing the area the players use to fight.

I’m pretty well versed in 3D modelling, so suggestions of props to make using it would be nice. Also because of the way the game will be I won’t be limited with instanced I can add to the game, hence I will accept suggestions big and small they will all help

I’d like to hear others feedback on this, because although I don’t specialist in Building, I would like to be versatile with all aspects of Development.

You should try using more textures to give it a bit more like a rusty/old place kind of feeling. I think the build looks good, it’s just that theres not enough textures to make it look more interesting.

If your wanting a more detailed alleyway are something that’s just simplistic and doesn’t require much details. Try include different props sorting alleyway are mainly open and isn’t filled with just a bunch of objects, minimum the amount of props you plan on putting around the areas.

I feel like the props that are in the scene are randomly placed in random areas, if you use reference images you’ll see there’s more placed up against the building with litter sorting designs on the walls just so it doesn’t appear bland and stiff.

From what I can see include some art and props that are placed on the side of the walls to the door areas some additional details on the walls to improve the quality of the build you could think of small props adding some lighting, dumpster, electric boxes, random cans, boxes on the ground and more.

Overall it’s, not bad i would use reference images to get those important details.

Thanks I agree too. Do you think I should use just Roblox materials or find others somewhere else?

In my opinion you should look for other textures outside of what the studio has to offer. There’s a whole bunch of different ones you can add to spice up your build, but when it comes to studio materials, there’s not much to work with. This doesn’t mean the studio has bad textures, it’s just that there’s not much variety.

Thanks I will start using the image for reference, what I really needed was “brain food” just to get the mind jogging. Thanks again I will try to create a coordinated mess to not make the area looks bland but not too organised.

Okay, do you know any websites where I can find textures to use for free, because I tried to like a corroded concrete on the ground but I’m not sure if it suits what U am doing.

The sites I know of aren’t free, so I can’t help you with that sadly. :cold_sweat:

I don’t mind if they aren’t free I don’t mind paying a bit for some textures.

https://www.textures.com/ is a good site to get started with, I also believe there are free options to certain textures. I’d recommend you check out the “Decals” part of the site as that’s where most of the stuff you’ll probably be looking for when it comes to these kind of builds. Play around with the textures, see what you’re comfortable with!
