Feedback on blizzard effect for horror game I'm working on

Looking for feedback on a blizzard effect I have made for a horror game that takes place in subzero conditions. Anything I can improve on that would make it more realistic/better? I would love suggestions!

Maybe make the snow come down more from the top? It looks like dust rn

Looks great! Maybe you could add an effect to the players screen where snowflakes will hit their camera(eyes/view) and stick for a couple seconds. It’ll add an extra interactive element.

if you look at real blizzards, they mainly come from the sides as there is normally heavy wind. (example: Incredible Blizzard Conditions - YouTube) I could made some come from the sky though, that would make it even more chaotic which I think would be cool.

I was actually thinking about this, I am just worried it will be seen as annoying by players

I guess so, but, maybe just a little bit of an angle might help

Thanks for the reply

I would say maybe concentrate most of it to the edges of the screen, similar to the minecraft freezing effect, and then have a couple scattered randomly in around. Also if they’re pretty translucent that also helps. I don’t know how/if it would impair the player’s experience in your game because I don’t know the mechanics and how it would work, but as long as it’s kept simple I don’t think too many players would be annoyed. :+1:
