Feedback on Building Game

I’ve been working on this project for almost 2 years now. My goal was to make a building game that mirrors the functionality of building in Roblox Studio exactly. Additionally, I wanted the game to have the ability to build with other players, similar to Team Create in Roblox studio.

My game is called Island Forge and it allows you to create your own islands with your friends and build anything on them. The building UI has an explorer and properties window, and a toolbar just like Studio. Which allows you to build very complex models unlike other building games.

When I initially released the game, I created advertisements and got around 3,700 visits in total. But after the campaign ended nobody was playing it.

If anyone has any feedback on how I can make this game more engaging to get a bigger audience, please let me know. Additionally, the game has a feedback tab if you don’t want to reply to this post directly. But I would prefer reading replies on here.

two small complaints

gui is a bit odd in the style of the game
some lighting adjustments to the game (lower diffuse and specular and change ambient) could make it feel a bit less “solid”

thats it, very good !

You’re game looks a little wonky, here’s a list on how to improve

  1. The UI in general looks a little odd, the font and thickness is most likely what throws me off

  2. The UI isn’t very inviting, it looks complicated if you haven’t used studio before and that’s most likely one of the main issues.

  3. Your game would look much better if you used custom textures instead of the normal RBLXStudio textures, since most devs stray away from the new textures anyway

  4. Try giving them some presets of models they could try to replicate, and a tutorial to help them understand the gameplay style

  5. And as @BanishAlt said, the game would be much more if there was better lighting in the game

That’s all hope this helps!

Suggestions: The UIs are a bit barebone, and the game play is a bit rough, also the graphics look like 2012, no offense.

But if you manage to make this game bring back the player’s nostalgia with good game play, it’ll be so good. (it’ll be hard though.)

Hi, please remember this topic is for feedback only. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say it.
