Feedback on Cafe build

Hey Robloxians, I built this Cafe but it doesn’t have the same touch as other cafes have, any advice?

In my opinion it’s way to large. Usually cafes are more compact.
I also recommend using darker colors as it’s nice on the eyes.

Similar to what @2jammers said, it blinds my eyes looking at the ceiling and walls. I suggest making the ceiling grey instead of white, and the walls darker than their respective colour.

There are a few ways to go about this situation
A first is to add some decorations around the building, like potted plants in corners for a small example
Another way is to try and change up the way that the building colors are, since staring at a bright white place with white lights isnt that pleasing to stare at.
You can make this better by changing the colors of everything, instead of having it white, try to use other colors
Try to add some sort of lighting model on the ceiling too, as it adds to realism.
And also in ABC’s comment, it is pretty big, as some cafes are quite small and compact, instead of large and open.
And if you want to, you can add background music to it, so spice it up a little

Thats all I can think about right now

Hello Rvzol,
Based on what I’m seeing here, you’ve made an honest attempt at creating a cafe, however you might consider these few details, primarily:

  • The space seems to lack a clear architectural plan; Plain ceilings and no elevation changes with few lines of sight. Players are unlikely to ‘feel at home’ in this space.
  • You seem to have skipped the material step while creating your spaces, opting only for some floor texturing. While this is great for some games experiences such as Adopt Me, this tends to fall short in more commerce/roleplay based areas.
  • Though you’ve color-coded this space, there is no color variation or navigational markers. Sometimes, microbial details can greatly improve a space. For example, placing more greenery towards lobbies and exits or taking a player up or significantly down in elevation to denote the significance of a space. You might consider some short architectural design classes through YouTube.

If you’d like any more recommendations, just send me a speedy reply! I like the direction that you’re taking this project.

Howdy Aiden/Rvzol,

I would, personally, suggest that the build is overall a bit too bright. Utilizing the lighting a bit better by allowing some shadows and local lights would be much nicer to see. I agree with a few others here, the build seems to be enlarged. There are a lot of empty gaps/spaces in the cafe which makes for some awkward design elements.

I would suggest searching the web for some references that align closely with your intentions for the build, it will give great tips on how to structure the floorplan and sizing. A good example could be this here:

This example to me embraces how a cafe should look (again, this is just my opinion.) As you can see above the space is not as empty, features more seating in a condensed area, and there is a very obvious focal point to the building being the cashier and pastry counter. It is a great habit to get into, to make the space as least confusing for the consumer as possible. They should be able to walk in and know exactly where to go while being able to enjoy the experience. Hiding some key places in the business around sharp edges could turn some people off… Although, this does not mean you cannot incorporate some “secluded” spaces in the business around some corners; leaving it for the adventurous consumer to find and enjoy.

Keep it going though, you’re on the right track!

It looks fine but the walls and roof need to have a darker color. Continue on making that great cafe :coffee:

It’s wayyy to bring imo, lower the brightness or change the colors.
